So in my WOT career I've never been able to participate in the CW events for the tank rewards (907, M60 and the such) because of my work schedule.  I don't have a single one of those tanks in the garage.  So, I fully intend to get all my tokens to receive whatever the mystery tier 9 reward tank is for the FL mode.  But, boy is it a grind.

I enjoy the mode immensely.  But I'm very glad that wargaming has decided to only make it 1 week at a time.  Because the grind can become very monotonous and the game mode loses its luster when it becomes a grind and not a game mode.  I'm not really whining, I'm just 3 tiers away from prestige level IV and I know that I could do 1 level per week, but just in case life pops up and I miss a week I'd like to be ahead.  I hope the tank is worth it wargaming.  But on the whole I'm glad you brought it back.  It's a total change of pace and allows for a lot of derpy play without consequences which is actually rather enjoyable.

Good luck to all my fellow tankers on the same path

I hear ya.  I think if WG could introduce additional maps into the rotation it would help immensely.  Just rotate a map for each week.  Even if there are just three maps, that means seeing the same map only once every three months.

They increased the grind for 1 prestige by about 60%, then made the carrot on the stick only available after 10 prestige levels. They know what they're doing, but they don't see that if they make it too grindy, they'll kill it.

Well one good thing about getting to prestige 4 now, you'll only have to get one prestige a week from here on out. Surely that's not grindy (Sorry I called you Sherley).

I'd be happy if they fixed the aiming glitch in certain spots in FL, I had to try and auto aim since it would jump high and low

I don't think it's that grindy actually.  I think it took 15-20 hours for me to get the first prestige level, so figure 2 hours a day on weekdays and 5-10 hours over weekend.  That isn't too bad.

Now if I had to do that every week, yeah, it would be bad.  But one week a month isn't bad at all.

LOL -- not too grindy?  20 hours a week is a PT job... I don't play WoT to have another PT job.

Yes, I did not mean to call him Shirley.

You meant the grind part? I'd guess if anyone got to prestige 4 in 2 weeks, doing one a week would not be a grind at all. So, yes, I was serious.

LOL you might want to do the math on how long you've been playing a day to get that battle count.

I play about 2 hours average a night, weekends 3-4, not anywhere near close enuff to get anything good.  Still having fun, who knows, I might win the lottery, be able to game 20 hours a day like South Park "Make Love Not Warcraft"  Good luck fellow tanks, aim for prestige and a little "Tegredity"

Compare the expected Premium Shop price for the reward tank you want to what you earn at your job for the same number of hours that you spend getting the prestige tokens.

It's grindy.

I play for the fun and the credits, otherwise I'd be upset with myself over essentially working a second job (though a relatively fun job) for so long just to get a $50 - $100 hunk of code.

Well -- ok, I'm a numbers guy and I figure that even if you reach the "average" rank of Captain -- allowing 23 mins per FL game (including queue times)… it would take you at least 20 hours.

So if you don't get that average (like me) and are between Lieutenant and Captain -- then you're looking at more like 24-26 hours per Prestige level.   If you did that much play in Randoms -- you'd earn roughly 125,000 xp (no boosters and allowing for your average XP), so a lot of grinding.

Indeed, feels quite grindy when only a handful of tanks are meta. Same tanks, same map and those last few ranks just crawl by...Sometimes I jump into a wheelie job and punch back into the red to go arty hunting. God that’s immensely satisfying. With 40 or 50 of them waiting in the que, and only 3 allowed, I can only imagine the harsh language coming and going. Breaks it up for me, and they get to come to the forums and squak and flap about how wheelies are breaking the game......delicious....
