why did FV304 get nerfed to uselessness?!?!

Why did FV304 get nerfed to uselessness?!?!

Geez guys, i know there was whining about it a year or so ago, but ya'll have made it nearly useless!

It is absolutely NO FUN at all since then.:facepalm:

Just finished yet ANOTHER battle 17 shots/1 hit, 2 splash damages.  Time after time for last year it's been like that.  Will you PLEASE adjust the hit/damage RNG for this little mortar-in-tracks!

 

And P-L-E-A-S-E, don't start telling me how to wait for shot circle to minimize & then it will hit.  Bull_hit!  Not so mates.  :angry:  I know how to play & i do not have that kind of bull_hit misses, even with French arty. :confused:

WofT you truly overdid the nerfing... give it SOME usefulness.  Or allow us to sell it back at full price if U insist on making rounds miss. & miss. & miss. &...

AFAIK the only thing they did that affects shooting was reduce the pen, back in 9.18.

Wow!  I should whine/[edited]more often.  Just finished battle where my FV304 hit 8/12 shots(!).  A regular miracle. :honoring:

Now make that about normal RNG WofT(!).

No.  They did alot more than that.  I'm talking about HITTING targets.  You can't even get, "We didn't penetrate their armor" results mate.

I've played the formerly fun little thing more than any other vehicle... until lately.  Only do it now because it is SO EASY.  Don't even have to think about what kind of ammo to use... since their took all away except of default rounds.  Just zip around.  Hide behind almost anything & lob away.  EXCEPT they stopped hitting targets(!) :facepalm:

RNG nerfs the arty pretty badly. I have gone a month plus with super terrible rng misses after misses or the bounce off of a scout/ open pit tdsigh arg and a few other terms to un-lady like to use.

It use to be fun in BERT platoons but since they stopped having multiple arty platoons there was no point to play it. Plus it doesn’t even stun

Yep OP....  You are correct about the FV304.

 

Wargaming however does it to ALL tanks.

They actually think making tanks utter donkey **** makes people want to play the game.

Armored Warfare did the same thing.  While it had other problems, their great 0.2.0 update or whatever they did massive nerfing and since to tank performance, and everybody left that was still there.

 

Their first iteration of their 0.2.0 Test Server it was litterly like playing WOT again. While they reversed most of those nerfs, they kept many big and little ones.

It made clear to me that they had no concept of quality control, and it's likely why they fired Obsidian because Obsidian knew how to make a good game, and My.com stopped them from doing so.

My.com is trash. They data mine like they own you personally. I was so offended by their policies I stopped playing anything they are associated with.

It just needs a short stun, really the arty change when they added stun hurt it the most since it doesn't have the pen it used to have.

YES MY BERT IS BAD 

 

lmho it needs atleast 10 second stun minimum and splash area increase.

It is what they did to arty to please the arty haters you think FV got derped try some higher tier arties.

How many fun tanks have WG jacked up over the years...Bert..Bis..Hellcat...list could be pretty long. Like the NoFunLeague ( NFL) keep jacking up rules and less an less fun.

If anything British sky cancer didn't get enough nerfs, it still has that [edited]shell arc.

Patch 9.18 dropped April of 2017 I believe and the following are the only changes -

 

FV304

  • Removed the AP-T Mk. 1T shell
  • Removed the AP-T Mk. 1T S.C. shell
  • Changed the view range from 310 m to 255 m
  • Changed penetration of the HE Mk. 1D shell for Q.F. 25-Pr. Gun/How. from 44 mm to 22 mm
  • Changed penetration of the HE Mk. XIII shell for Q.F. 4.5-in. Howitzer from 57 mm to 28 mm

 

Nothing about changing accuracy or dispersion so if there has been a nerf, it has been from another patch or it is a unannounced "stealth" nerf. It would be all but impossible to prove or disprove a "stealth" nerf.

 

Why 9.18 reworked arty like it did is the subject of much debate. For better or worse, 9.18 altered arty significantly.

Skytale, there were definitely other nerfs, because they massively nerfed the FV's speed and maneuverability.

And this was before the Great Physics Nerf which nerfed all tanks speeds and since.

 

And ya, I also definitely noticed its accuracy being worse.

If you have any patch notes to that effect since 9.18 I'd love to see them. They might well exist, I just have not found them. Otherwise, it would be an unannounced "stealth" nerf. I defiantly feel that the Lef got a "stealth" accuracy/rng nerf, but I can't prove it so it's just a theory. It could be same with the FV304 or could be just a "feel".

The change that needs to happen with SPGs is:
- Increase pen to high values - at least 200mm
- Halve damage.
- Get rid of stun entirely.
- Make splash damage normal HE - effectively useless against most harder targets.  2-3x splash radius. ( able to level small buildings and large amounts of trees in one shot, extremely effective vs other SPGs as direct hits aren't required )

The idea is IF you get a direct hit on a tank, they take full damage, same as a tank round, but never enough to take out a tank with just one shot.  If you miss, you do HE damage to a large area ( same as current splash/pen ) - most things will ignore it, lighter targets will get hurt.
