ABOUT FING TIME!!!

 

After watching the video, here is my feedback:

 

  1. Reduce the amount in each battle to 2
  2. Reduce the number of researchable arty (T6-T8)
  3. Give then smoke and illumination rounds (you have this in FL, so use it in randoms)
  4. Reduce the range of all arty to 445 meters
  5. Eliminate the shotgun ability entirely. 
  6. Increase the mobility on all SPG's.
  7. Add more true arty cover to open maps.

I am not impressed that as usual WG avoids the obvious in their "balance" shenanigans by maintaining the three cancer limit and not rebalancing the sky cancers as needed as some need buffs while others like the m44 need to be nerfed. Reduce it to just one or two and the issue of perma stuns gets reduced while going down to one does away with the issue altogether.

And the fact that this took 2 years..... Any other game would have done this in two weeks....

Go back to the old arty with the poor accuracy and 1 shooting and just limit to 2 a game. Its what should have been tried first before the stun.

 I hate getting one shot by tanks bigger than me. Can we get a rework for those too?

Just take arty "off board". The player gets a scout vehicle with the unique ability to call in strikes instead, just like frontline.  You could still grind for different tiers and calibers of arty support and smoke screens. This would put the arty player at or near the front and make him a more normal team member.

I'd be happy to see arty returned to the RNG slot machine with the option to LOLdelete anything, but with the max limit of 1 per team.  3 arty with stun or with the old school LOLDELETE mchanics is not fun.

They really ought to limit it to 1 arty per team and yes I play a lot of arty but I think there are too many per game

It'll be interesting to see how these changes shake out...  Thus far, they're reducing stun, and making secondary stuns pretty-much pointless in addition to reducing the area damage.

 

I'd still rather they reduce the SPGs to 2 per side max...

The next post I want to see about ARTY might go like this.

 

"WG removes artillery from it's flagship game "World of Tanks". Artillery owners will be compensated with GOLD for each SPG surrendered."

Maximum of 2 arty per battle and I’d be content. (Though I’d love to see them removed. Ain’t happening)

 Increase the value of a counter-battery kill by arty to make some people actually do it. I love doing CB and if there are 3 arty on one side, I let them support and go arty hunting. Make it more attractive for the non-team player types to go counter battery. Give arty back some of its speed to add more difficulty to CB. It might reduce arty concentration fire but still allow support to punish camping too long or lower tiers trying to take on some the ridiculous bigger tanks by themselves.
  Plus another thread mentioned bigger maps which would also reduce arty's ability to focus on one small section of the map, provided the usual lemming tactics are still not used. There are parts on some maps I can blind fire and know I will probably hit a heavy tank player because it's so predictable.  Rocking back and forth less than the length of your ranks just makes you an attractive target.

This... would be nice. I've used my EBRs to punch through the lines and lit up every single Artillery on the enemy team. Our Artillery pieces (without communication) completely ignored them while they were lit and continued firing at the front lines and tanks with easy penetration. 

 

It's just too easy to be a terrible player in Artillery because your shot is completely determined by RNG and there's no consequence for picking a bad target.

I'd be fine with this.  But I'd rather they just give me back the XP I wasted on them.  lol

looks like they are aiming to nerf the nerfs. Reducing the impact of stun? Well stun was compensation for the a round that is suppose to do 1100 dmg but really only can muster 300 on a direct hit. Eventually arty will have zero impact on the game and people will stop playing them all together. Wargaming won't have to remove them if their never played.

Vehicles like object 261 and Bat chat 55, 58 will be effected most, because of their poor damage and stun threshold. These vehicles already have trouble enough dealing with heavy vehicles, and now their stunning capability is set for reduction. This is just another wargaming ruse to buff superheavy tanks, and nerf artillery. Artillery already sucks, it does not need to suck more. And combine that with a super heavy spall liner buff too.

 

This is just a message for artillery drivers. Do not shoot Maus tank or Type 5, T110E3. Why even try. Reticle in and shoot the Leopard 1. Or AMX30B, STB1. Don't waste your time.

 

l can agree with the additional stun duration modification and reduction, that is sensible. l can agree with minimum stun duration getting increased, becoming more based off of damage caused. l can agree with the 0.15->0.05 edge of splash radius stun reduction, that is fine too. But SPGs need a damage buff, they sorely need a damage buff in order to contest the flood of heavily armoured tanks. No sane artillery driver, is going to bother shooting Type 4 and 5s, if their arty will deal zero damage. Especially now, with stun reductions coming, and less effective burst area.  This arty rework needs to ahve a 10-15% artillery damage increase, for the stun arty involved.
