If the damage reduction is removing max damage from outer edge splash shots - it's not a damage reduction at all because that should have never existed in the first place.    Thats the equivalent of giving max damage on a non-penetration HE round.

WG is nerf damage for 50%:15% to 50%:5% and a 5% reduction in splash radius. 

 

That ends up being ~20% reduction in overall damage.

When damage is a component of stun duration, they have no choice but to reduce damage to reduce stun duration - do they?

I am not defending WG’s design choices, merely pointing out that a ~20% reduction in overall damage is not “a very minor nerf.”

And I'm only saying a component of that damage should have never been in place to begin with (edge of splash radius).   I view this more as a correction than a nerf.    Still, they haven't changed the number of SPG's that can spawn in a game - so I don't see a whole lot changing TBH.   Only change that looks like it will be noticeable is the reduction of the perpetual stun when one vehicle is hit by more than 1 arty.

They should let arty have a M key so they get a map like the rest of the team.

Lol, yeah so ONE guy made whiney post that got more people whining about arty than those that where complaining about the nerfs because almost all of them simple stated there better be buffs to go with the nerfs. Yup, delusional.

LOL...hurts that my post is a fact doesn't it. Arty as it is in the game is a joke. It's just a compromise by the Russkies because they LOVE arty. Arty reduced to 2 per battle is an acceptable fix for me. It will help eliminate everyone hiding like turtles in REAL tanks while arty gets to sit back and "fire at will". Quite honestly, I enjoy seeing arty destroyed on BOTH teams. Most arty players are a handicap anyway. I'd take 3 crappy, go-kart wheeled vehicles over 3 arty any day.

Speak for yourself. I'd celebrate with the rest of the "old rimers" if they yanked arty from the game. But I know it won't happen. So a reduction to a maximum of 2 per game would be fine with me.

The average artillery in a game is 2, which means if something gets focused fired, a stun would be at least twenty seconds. So yea, it makes a big difference.
