Please let's not play dumb, I don't have to provide statistical proof when everyone knows the end of almost every battle is arty cleanup time. And that usually ends with "enemy SkyCancer has drowned" before you can even get to kill it.

If arty is blind shooting and hitting you then you are doing something wrong (aside from dmg or being stuck that keeps you stationary). You are too predictable. And arty has limited ammo so every blindshot is a high chance of a miss, meaning one less shell to fire at something they can see.

I agree with your assertion but not all of us play like that.  What I find troubling, in a lot of this, is that everyone on the hatred bandwagon assumes that all arty players are red/orange players that don't know anything and just forever sit in a single spot.  What do you say to people like ElPuffMo when she's stomping mud holes in everyone's asses at a super unicum clip over thousands upon thousands of games?  Not all of us are window lickers.

I wish artillery would just be removed but as that won't happen i wish they would not make them so cancerous and give big rewards to artillery that counter the enemy artillery. I don't have the answers but i do believe a great majority of players would prefer artillery be removed and compensation given. XP, credits, and otherwise.

Except for that is how arty survives, give me the armor and maneuverability of a heavy and I will get close to where the enemy is. Kind of like how turretless TD's have to pick their spots. So just sounds idiotic to say arty and tds are campers to a certain degree when they don't function well otherwise. But you are playing in something with decent armor and ability to shoot in any direction but still camp a spot is a whole different animal.

fighting on the front lines is not camping. Using dips, hills and cover while fighting the tanks right in front of you is not camping. In fact the real campers don't get crapped on by arty because they camp so far back they never get lit, it's the tanks that are actively fighting and spotting up front that attract sky cancer.

 Hummel used to be fun to play TD with and surprise someone. But this was when it was top tier and had the bigger engine to give it speed. Got a hell of a surprise when they added the next couple of tiers for arty, nerfed it's damage and ran up behind a damaged hvy on Himmelsdorf, shot him and he didn't go boom. Couldn't run away fast enough.

I don't get your point, when there's a good player in arty it becomes even more broken. I had to play that garbage for personal missions to get female crew members and it was the easiest thing ever. Arty is a sancioned griefing mechanic.

You gotta play the cards dealt. Don't like em? Fold and quit. Everybody is playing with the same deck and if you only want tanks get rid of those camping TDs and wheelies too. Then you lose another large part of player base. As stated before the reduction af max arty to 2 would be the best option here. Usually I only have 3 arty maybe 25 % of the time and none quite a bit. If I see 0 or one I will play and ignore it.  If 2 or more then I have to adjust the same as if there ar 7 ats.

How so? 

 

Most of the time Mediums and Heavies contest points of strength that can dictate the flow of battle. A Defender might sit behind a house, not only to block direct artillery fire, but to optimize his armor and DPM against facing enemies. A Panther II might use his extremely good view range in a double bush to maximize his strengths. 

 

Eventually, they either die, retreat, or advance. Artillery does nothing of the sort except sitting at the red line and glancing at the minimap while they reload. It puzzles me that artillery players are convinced their class has depth when objectively it's the contrary.
