... is to stop playing a game which has a mechanic or feature that annoys you.

Life is too short for all the vitriol.

Don't like Arty?  Don't play.

Hate wheelies?  Don't play.

Despise the matchmaker?  Easy-peasy - don't play.

In several polls and opinion pieces - the problem is the community.  You.  Try enjoying the game.  Get blown up?  Go back to the garage and try again.

It's a team-game.  Unless you've got 10,000 Raseiniai Heroes' Medals - someone helped you win.  Help someone.

(*gasp*)  Trying being kind.

Unfortunately, the image below summarizes most of the players that complain:

^This

Player counts have continued to drop every month and only climbs back up around Christmas during winter break and a little peak during summer vacation. During controversial updates however, WG is hemorrhaging players.

We saw it during the V4 (while it was OP), removal of tanks, arty changes, and now with the go-karts. These changes arent bringing new players to the game, its making veteran players leave. The December veteran rewards was the only thing in years that has actually brought a large amount of the players back.

If they go through with the proposed premium ammo changes (it sounds like they will..) and all of the other nonsense about hiding stats, giving crews six sense, ect. I would just leave at that point. The game is going in the totally wrong direction and WG isn't bucketing the water fast enough out of this sinking ship.

Yep.

As an example: EverQuest still has a playerbase, but it's a tiny fraction of what it was at the peak. People like new things, so they tend to gravitate to the new-shiny whenever one comes out.

you sound like one of the asshats who says to just leave 'Merica if you have a criticism....

apparently nobody is allowed to have a criticism of the game and voice it.

usually, if you love something, you are constantly thinking of ways to make it even better.

but, i guess that ain't cool anymore.  just accept what you have, right?

welcome to a dictatorship.

I usually see 12k to 18k on line, it may not be what it was but I'm not going anywhere for a while. Played WOW for 10 years before this. Really I like this much better.

I'm not saying "leave", Monsieur Chapeau De Cul

I'm saying don't play a game you don't like.  It isn't logical.  Do something that brings you happiness

If you look to the left, you'll see I've played for a couple weeks now.  I see an ever rotating band of talking heads making the same trope arguments over and over.  It's a vocal minority.

I recommend reading a book or two on history.  If you think I'm promoting 'dictatorship' - you've got much bigger problems than a pixel-ated tank game.

And yet the game is still going. I've left every online game I've every played, some had issues I didn't like, most I got bored of, who the hell can play a game over and over gain for years and not get bored? Not to mention life. People move on, have less time, more important things to do, new games come and go taking away those that still have the time. Any game that has lasted this long with this many people playing is doing very well.

You spelled intolerance wrong. But I'm not surprised since this thread was created by an artillery player.

Not natural when the exodus started AFTER they had beaten their only competition into the ground.    Seriously, this is a game in a genre with little competition and it's losing players at a 25% clip per year over the last 2 years and is on pace for the same this year.   Given the fact that this is a game with more of an adult player base than most, that should be disturbing - not brushed off as a some natural occurrence.

Those "tomatoes" you are complaining about, they are the new players that you need to recruit to keep the player base healthy. WG doesn't do itself any favours, but churn is normal, the important thing is to have a net positive gain of new players. This game is so stacked against them, however, and the community has such toxic reputation; nobody wants to pick the game up as it just doesn't sound like a good time.

Trying to encourage new players, and making the game more appealing to them, is the only thing that will save it in the long run.  WG has a looong way to go, they are still handing out OP tanks as rewards to the best players for crying out loud... Look at the most successful PvP games on the market, everyone gets access to the same equipment as they progress and the stuff you pay with $ is cosmetic. Let's not even bring up their addiction to marathons, that require unhealthy levels of time investment.

WG is starting to make baby steps in the right direction, but, they are like a heroin addict, that thinks they can get their life sorted by just reducing a bit; there's a long way to go before this game starts its recovery.

If this game is reliant on bringing in new players, consider it dead in NA.    There are so many layers of the onion that are stacked against the new player in WoT it's pathetic.

You started the second sentence with a conjunction.

Again - pedantic arguments for only argument's sake.  Go away.

This isn't a 'special snowflake' game.  It's a GAME, Sparky.   Not life and death.

Adults can figure out whether to play it (I do - casually.  IMO I think clans, advances, etc are a silly waste of time.  For others, it's a ton of enjoyment) or not.     The myopic view in the US is that we're the only, or most important, customer base.   We're not.

That's not the main point of this thread though.

The games death has been touted since 8.5.    It's still here.

It's shocking that an 8 year old game is losing players ....

Does WG do dumb things? Sure, all the time, but lets try not to pretend that multiplayer online games don't have a life-cycle.

And you triple posted instead of just editing one. Keep eating that glue, bro.

*Edit*: You can start sentences with conjunctions. Nice try though.
