Cough, Skorpion, Defender, 252u.....these 3 vehicles alone don't care what tier your facing. Yes MM is a joke but not all tier 8 premiums are average or less.

I've found the Polish 53TP is the same way. It doesn't care.

"Oh look! a Tier X...BOOM! Take 420 damage from my 122mm kielbasa shooter!" :playing:

I would say the Tier VIII preferred MM tanks are the way to go for some who are looking to purchase a Tier VIII.

they have all been buffed, so they're much more competitive.

For example, I've been playing the heck outta my Super Pershing since the buff. It is way better now. Faster, better pen for the gun, and better armor. Plus it makes a ton of credits and only goes for about $33 in the store. IS-6 is pretty darn good too.

The new MM templates cant come soon enough for me.  3/5/7 has sucked all the fun out of what used to tbe the most fun tier to play in (for me at least).

That said, 20% top tier (reported by OP) is pretty close to what would be predicted by the current template dirven MM.

You can't be bottom tier if you play tier 10 tanks.  :harp:

I hate to nit-pick, but in an all tier 10 match you're bottom tier (and top tier simultaneously).

My point in saying this is that I see some newer players (3,000 games played was one example the other day) who hurry up to Tier 10 thinking "now I'm king of the hill", only to end up in an all-Tier-10 match...and they get their rear kicked.  Tier 10 play is another level of competition, not a solution to being frustrated by being bottom tier.

Anyone have stats on how often you're in an all-tier-10 vs. being top tier in a 3/5/7 when playing tier 10 tanks?

Tier VIII Premiums serve one purpose, to play Frontlines to earn the Credits, Bond, Gold, etc

A second purpose would be to just run Tier VIII premiums with personal reserves.  It's a nice way to quickly boost up your credit stash without playing more than 1-2 hours.

I have had fantastic success with the SU-130PM. It doesn't care what tier it sees, it blasts the [Edited] out of everything. It is an awesome credit earner and you rarely have to use Prem ammo with it. Only caveat...I am using a crew that is working on it's fourth skill and it has BiA fully trained. That helps a LOT!! ;)  And I ONLY play Randoms...no other mode.

In my other account my VIIIs just gather dust.An almost 3 marked Pershing a 63% T44 and a centurion 1 and that swedish centurion with the rock band in it all probably 56  57 %   I guess maybe 500+ battles 1300+ in the Pershing just sitting there. My point is I DONT PLAY SUPPORT TANK that's not why I play this game sorry I'm not .

You can tell me to get gud or try and explain to me about getting more XP or silver or what ever that jive talk is when you're bottom tier but I don't need XP and I have a visa.I will not spend a dime in this account though other than a  couple random premiums most of which I failed in because I won't fire premium ammo. They took a great game and ruined it brovo WGs.

My only Viii premium is the JgTig 8.8 and is SUCKS......yes it shoots fast and makes coin but it bounces way too many shots off other 8s and against 9s- especially heavies you cant forget doing any damage,.......you rarely see anyone playing them.......what a waste of money.

Preferential Tier 8 Premium Tanks

Ah, so I see you're a fan of 5/10 or all 8 "top tier" templates

I still prefer pref over regular tanks at tier 8.

Templates are cancerous and need to be nuked from existence

yes...tomatoes at tier 10 lose more often than when bottom tier. Because at top tier you have to carry and they can't.

"Never" is a really strong word.

This is absolutely correct and is mystifying that we're going almost 2 years in without a fix.

Tier 8 premiums are great for farming credits in strongholds and frontlines. You can also pad WN8 fairly easily in them, just dont expect to carry a 3-5-7 every game.

I still manage decent winrates in my 8s though.

You are correct, "never' is the wrong word; "infrequently" would have been more appropriate.

^^^This. And some Tier VIII premiums are worth it if they are one of the credit printing machines like the JT 8.8 and The Lowe.

Credit printing is good, but when you face tier X 40% of the time...Its better to play (and much more fun) the Bromwell or Type 64 in tier VI stronks to get credits.

Most of the Polish line starting at 7 is under rated, the 53TP is a great tank. I'm using the 53TP even though I have the 60TP as well.

The KanPanz 105 and the WZ 120-1 FT manage well enough against any tier. They make bank that's for sure.
