So I've got an open ticket with support, but their suggestions haven't helped so far.

After the most recent patch I've experienced massive frame rate drops, from 60+ down to 5 - 10 now which renders the game basically unplayable. This issue is affecting me in WoWS too.

All GPU drivers are up to date, all windows drivers are up to date, have run anti-spyware and anti-malware programs, ALL OTHER GAMES WORK GREAT ON MY PC. I even went so far as to wipe my GPU drivers as suggested by support and do a clean install, which worked for one day, and then the problem reappeared after a restart.

Windows 10

i7-2600k@3.4ghz

GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

Driver version 25.21.14.1967

You should be running Windows Vista, not Windows 10...

Um, that CPU is pretty old.... It may be that...

EDIT: After looking, this CPU is most likely the issue.......

I doubt it's the Cpu, the i7-2600k is still a solid processor for gaming.  Never mind that I know quite a few people that run on older dual core cpu that run the game without this problem.

Hey FrreeeBird does the slow down happen right away or does it start up after a bit?  Have you tried watching your computer temps to see if there is any thermal throttling going on?

While true, the 2600k is aging and is most definitely bottlenecking the 1060. A lot is going to depend on what the OP is running for resolution.

Make sure no background programs are running, also try changing the priority of the worldoftanks.exe when its running to be 'above normal' (task manager, processes, right click the worldoftanks.exe, set priority).  Newer drivers aren't always better, maybe try an older one where you didn't encounter the problem.  Check to see if some windows update has been installed since the problem arose and roll back.

Uh, me too. I saw this thread and felt relieved it wasn't just me. I have Windows 10, GTX 1060 6gb, using a i5 7500@ 3.4 gGHz. Latest drivers as of today. It starts out ok for a few games and then drops to 30 if I am lucky. I run Aslains modpack for reticles and sounds. Never had an issue until yesterday.

I ran the analysis utility and it said I had excess files  , now that I reported that my FPS dropped 66%

Look for another NVIDIA driver update as NVIDIA driver can cause loss of FPS. I have top end equipment and my FPS can go as high as 300+ FPS depending on view angle. The last NVIDA update gave me the same FPS on Windows (borderless), Windowed and Full Screen modes. The previous NVIDIA update cut my FPS down to 144 MHz in Windowed and Windows (borderless) modes.

Tanks Lowboy,

I recommend the 4K at standard def for super more detailed tanks

I say make sure you're running the SD client, that the update didn't somehow 'upgrade' you to the HD client, try running minimum graphics settings as a data point to see if settings haven't changed, run the WoT check and repair tool under settings, start the client in safe mode to disable any effects of mods, roll back the driver to the point where it was working.... If all else fails, take a close look at your graphics card to make sure everything is working.  Last time I had a problem like that, one of the two fans on my graphics card had failed and the card was overheating, causing the card to throttle down and subsequent frame rate loss.

If all else fails, uninstall, scan/clear registry with CCleaner, reinstall WoT... I've had to do this maybe 3 times in the last 6 years and it's solved the unsolvable problem every time.

You might have a memory creep issue.  Try monitoring the megabyte working set size and see if any task/service/program is growing too large. You might also look at the number of hard faults. If too high then again it might be a memory creep issue or you just don't have enough memory. 6 GB should be enough if you don't have a lot of memory hogs running.  If you don't have enough memory then you you'll run into virtual memory page swapping which will kill your performance.
