I got back into the game a few days ago and decided to stop checking wotlabs after every session. I realized that I would become frustrated over my performance in a video game because a number was below 2450. I play the game because it is still fun for me, not for a number. I still try to play my best but I don’t need to be frustrated when I don’t show purple at the end of a day. Stop worrying about stats and just play. It’s a whole lot less stressful.

I just play and my stats increase.  :P

Keep the fun, if stressing about stats is dampening the fun, then don't stress and go make some dude do the dead.

Nothing wrong with knowing your stats but if you're not adult enough to accept them without crying about it then maybe solitaire is a better option.

I suppose it really doesn't matter if your just a pubbie like I am even though I've been in a good clan with very good players. I'm just a Smurf sometimes dark blue in my primary account that listens well lol.I don't think I've ever went to WOT labs except when my buddy space helped me put up my stats in my signature.

around the end of 2017/start of 2018 l was focused on stats and tried to keep my recents purple...l only played tanks that l could do well in and farm the wn8 (m46 patton, amx 13 75, etc).

The past couple weeks l've just been grinding through painful tanks that l'm less than stellar at, so my stats have dropped but really l don't care too much. Just looking forward to getting those great tanks at the end of the line and then maybe l can try to bring my wn8 up again.

Stop telling me what to do, OP!  :izmena:

Stats are just side entertainment of this game for me, nothing more.   As long as I get to shoot things and they go boom, this game will continue to be a top entertainment choice for me.  :)

Yeah true, which is why I'm not worrying about them.

That's still true for me, just not so sure about the recents since I've been sitting at about 2400 for about 2 years now.

Just did 700 damage at tier 3 while grinding a new line and still lost.

The problem with statistics in this game is:

  • few people understand them, and contextual-based application is often biased and erroneous
  • They're inconsistently applied
  • They've changed over time.  Accuracy refers to how close a sample statistic is to a population parameter.  These have changed radically since 2011
  • They're not time based

stats are subjective and half reflects how you play.  They are pointless and you will never win a argument with it.

How am I supposed to stop caring for my stats in a video game, when that implies I ever cared in the first place...

I play for funsies, never anything else... ;)

Stop caring about what I care about! lol

You're half-right though, they shouldn't be obsessed over, but they are a handy tool if one is interested in tracking one's performance.

I just play to the best of my ability and learn from my mistakes and my stats tend to get better because of this. I wonder if there is a connection.

Nah, it can't be, it must be that you and Minsk are in an unholy alliance to .... um, not even sure what the current rigging conspiracy rationale is.

Stats have their place in the game. XVM, once you understand it, is useful in understanding the player.

I use WoT Numbers. Pretty much the only stats I look at after a session. Win rate, survival rate and stuff like blocked. I also look over the new tab they added - the result. It shows if the game was 15-3 and 15-11... and I can say most of my games are in the 15-10 or higher category. Certainly proving that "every game is 15-5 blowout" is just a bias observation.

I use xvm but I run no portions of the mod that adds any stat tracking. Even my carousel just shows win%, highest mastery class and MoE%. Worry about dealing more damage when it is crucial to the win and staying alive - everything else will improve.

...and WoT Numbers also tracks your lumberjack rating. TreeVM > WN8
