Good players still have high winrates. Anyone can damage farm for wn8, but it takes skill to win consistently. The fact that unicums still have purple winrates shows that they can and do influence games even with 3 5 7.

You guys need to decide if:

  • with (this mystical, mythical, unicorn crap known in this game as)  "skill" you can do anything
  • MM is broken and you can't win with it

You can't have both

I got back into the game a few days ago and decided to stop checking wotlabs after every session. I realized that I would become frustrated over my performance in a video game because a number was below 2450. I play the game because it is still fun for me, not for a number. I still try to play my best but I don’t need to be frustrated when I don’t show purple at the end of a day. Stop worrying about stats and just play. It’s a whole lot less stressful.

Ok you should yolo scout in every game then.

Hey, XVM is great for finding those people who pat themselves on the back for being a unicorn, after all they are so great because they out play people by hitting the 2 key, then annoying the crap out of them with arty:arta:. It's not fair that arty can hit them while they completely negate armor after all.

If it's that simple, why can't you do it ?, or even get close to it ?.

What? That's hardly what I'm saying here. I'm still trying to play well, that hasn't and never will change.

My last 15 games, 10 losses due to MM and the rest of my team evaporating in the first 3-5 minutes due to lemming-train idiocy or failing to cap/bother to protect the base.
Jesus can't save you when it's 2 vs 1 due to the other flank evaporating.  Blue and purple ( supposedly "Pro" ) people in a 3vs 1 situation at the end due to their team derping itself into oblivion is almost every endgame now.

With the MM broken as it is, only two stats actually determine player skill any more.
% hits ( raw accuracy )
number of kills
This is how 90%+ of other games track player skill.

Everything else is useless and broken - don't even look at it.   How good YOU are based on how the other 14 people in your team tried and failed?

I have been playing for six months and I worried about my stats for about 90 days during that period.   Or more specifically, I spent a lot of time trying to decide which stats actually mattered to me.  After looking at all of them, I decided that they were all arbitrary so none really mattered to me.  So I decided to just play as well as I could and try to complete missions.  But more importantly, just have fun.  As soon as the fun factor wanes, I get up and go do something else.

Note that WG has been quite good of late and the changes that they have, or intend to make, have make the game more fun for me.  More specifically:

1.  The new MM is a huge improvement.   Tanks that I have not touched in a long time are fun to play again.  The MM will never be perfect but it is much better now, especially in prime time.

2.  The new rewards are great.  I was not grinding tanks because it felt like work and now I just have to be patient and they will grind themselves.  It will take time but WG has been more generous with the blueprint fragments that I expected.  The free directives are also very nice because there is no way to get them without bonds otherwise.   I have hardly used any but it is the principle that matters in this case as I now have access to a benefit that was not in my reach before.

3.  Frontline is fun and was the only way to get even tier battles before although the new MM has partly resolved that.

4.  The incoming arty changes look good to me.  I expect they will compensate for the proposed reduction of arty effectiveness by higher rate of fire or something like that  We'll see but it will be an improvement.

5.  The new premium ammo changes will be good.  I hardly use any myself and I noticed that there seem to be less of it now that the new MM is out.   No hard evidence though.

I am not a fan of entering a code to do missions but I expect that this new "improvement" will be removed soon.  That is minor in the big scheme of thing but still annoying.

Give me some new maps and my fun factor will ratchet up once again...

HI, you should try playing easier types. LT and TD are classes that require intimate map knowledge. LT are by far the most difficult class. Try heavy tanks. KV1, KV1s and IS line is the most forgiving. Concentrate on doing more than one shot of damage.

you should really stop blaming your teammates. You don't seem to be skilled or experienced.

Both WN8 and win rate "colors" exist primarily to let people at the very far end of the bell curve in results compare themselves and pat themselves on the back. Win rate for somewhat below average through average to somewhat above average is not statistically significant for most people in most vehicles. Scientific fact. Even if everything else was equal, the number of battles required to parse 53% from 49% is comically high.

And everything else is far from equal in this game. A longtime continuous player (never has to relearn maps or tanks, has elite crews) who has credits to burn and/or throws money at the game has a HUGE advantage. Even if they're not playing mid tiers or lower with a seal clubber or buying a Defender or playing whatever is the most powerful line at the moment.

No.

ABSOLUTELY MADLAD!

That aside, I remember the biggest flower up I did with XVM mod, I was like 50.5% at around 4k battles then I got on a tank I don't remember, years ago, and my winrate went from 50.5 to 49.6, I got rid of XVM later, and I'm still sitting +/- 5% at 49.6. Boy, was I shocked at that progress. But later on, I decided to flick my remorse switch for winrate to OFF and been having fun!

The game isn't fun because its a game.

The game is fun because its competitive.

If I wanted to play a game for the game I'd go play an RPG.

There is ONLY ONE stat that matters, and there is no way to measure it.

How much fun are you having?

No disagreement there, but if I never got better at a game, and were consistently getting beat down, I'd probably find a new game. Constantly losing can't be fun?
