I enjoyed the M8A1 as a tier IV tank destroyer.  It taught me about concealment, view range, and flexing.  It's small, quick, and has a great 57mm gun.

They're not good for new players though.

It looks like you have (or have had) premiums at each of those tiers.  If you still have them, why not play them?  No hassles with crews or research then and you get some crew training benefit.  Or, take the opportunity to grind a new line, the Italians perhaps.

The H35 and R35 are pretty good, really good armour for their tier and they're slow so they won't be rushing out and dying in the first 30 seconds. If they're top tier they can be pretty OP.

Don't overlook the I-Go Chi-Ro (tier 2 Jap, maybe spelled wrong?).  Over 2,000 DPM at tier 2 with equipment.  Covenanter is fun at tier 4.

At tier 2 and 3 you'll need something to either withstand or nuke machinecancer infestation (M2 Light, Cancer I, Cancer II J etc.). H35 is good at this, there are some tier 3 derps (Pz IV A, M2 Medium, T-46) that can hurt these  along with some decent mobility, Cruiser II/Valentine AT can nuke them in one shot but you're not gonna hit those  with the terrible shell velocity their derp has.

At tier 4 you can't go wrong with the Hetzer, the P.26/40 or the Marder 38T. Panzer III J is excellent as long as you're willing to spam gold.

For tier 5 you have the good ol' KV-1 and Pz. IV H. The S35 CA is a good meme machine, JPz E 100 at tier 5.

I'd suggest you just try to carry them over to tier 5 as soon as possible and then start the mentoring.

Pz 1C and Luchs and the likes are good with GOOD players: a newbie in those machines will rage more than anything else.

Try to start them on the Russian or American lines, I feel they are the easiest.

Good luck to you and your friends !

Somua S35 (Tier III)

Matilda w/ 2-pdr X (Tier IV)

I really liked the Ke-Ho, a very good overall package. Hetzer is a meme-machine that needs no introduction. Matilda can single-handedly hold a flank if its top tier. Luchs with the autocannon is extremely rewarding if you can empty the whole drum into someone. StuG IIIG is easily my favorite machine in the whole game, the best sniper tier-for-tier. M4 Sherman with the 105mm howitzer is extremely threatening to anything with thin armor, and has other benefits like fantastic view range and depression angles. And the KV-2 with the 152mm is another that needs no introduction nor explanation.

If you like TDs, the best one to begin in, IMO, is the German Hetzer.  Cheap to XP for, big gun, and T4 - so it only goes against things that it can do damage to ( few exceptions, but mostly true, almost everything T6 and under has thin armor ).  Basically it's a T6 gun on a little frog that hops around slowly, yet hides well.  Everyone has one, everyone loved playing it and the Stug that follows.  T6-T7, though, and the German TDs fall apart compared to the Russians.

Second for TDs would be the Russian line.  Loads of fun.  Laughably bad barrels with huge shells. T3-T10 are all good.

Most fun starting TD though, was the FM/42 (Swedish) due to the turret (!) and good camo.  The Swedish line is very good overall, long-term.  A few hundred free xp and boom - ready to go, since it's T2.  2 second reload and not breaking camo when you aim... lots of good things to say about it.

LTs?  Bit of a mixed bag due to wheeled vehicles.  Autloaders from various nations rule here.

Mediums and Heavies? Russians.  Bias is strong here as is their armor.

Low tier (5/6) Japanese tanks are fun. I don't know why, as they as complete trash, but they are fun.

I think because they have a decent rate of fire and being somewhat slow appears that you are doing more damage than you are.

Tier 5 and 6 do 100-120 damage/shot.

Matilda and Valentine 2 are fun, too, assuming you make into battle.
