Tankers,

A few friends and I are looking for a clan to join. We're all 30+ with families and lives that have unpredictable demands at times. We're looking for a mature clan that's not too big, but big enough to participate in more than just random battles. We do want to get into clanwars also.

We're all pretty decent players. Nothing fantastic, but not horrible. We all live in the Southeastern United States, Central timezone. We're laid back, but could be labeled as "semi-competitive". We take stats and battle contribution seriously. We are continuously looking for ways to improve our game play.

However, there is an additional requirement. Your clan must exclusively use Discord for inter-clan communications. We do not want to mess with Teamspeak, Mumble, Ventrilo, or any other out-dated/out-paced communication platforms.

Anyways - thanks for reading and we hope to find a good match! =)

Kind Regards,

KINGN0VA

Oh well ...

Good luck in your clan search.

Didn't know Teamspeak was out of date or out paced. Good luck with your search for a new home.

Well, good luck.  Teamspeak is used by most every clan I’m aware of.

It is unfortunate honestly. I used to run Teamspeak servers and did a ton of integration with their SDK. I do/did love Teamspeak. If the developers would straight-up ripoff discord and make one of their own, I'd be all for it. But as it stands it just doesn't make sense to use it anymore while something like Discord exists. Discord is completely free, it's supported naively on all platforms - mobile and desktop, it's easy to use and setup... etc. Servers are easy to manage, the permissions are as easy to configure as they are on TS (despite what TS's website says)... Plus the chatroom features, the ease of using/configuring bots, etc... I think the limit for connected users is something like 5k? Anyways - yeah. Discord is just flat out better.

Since you wouldn’t be running the servers as it wouldn’t be your clan, why is it an issue for you?

I'm already on Discord is the biggest thing. I'm connected with friends the play different games that "live" on different discord servers - all simultaneously. I'm present in all servers at the same time. (I don't think you can be connected to two different servers over voice at once like TS, not sure though)

One of the biggest benefits to using Discord to stay connected with comrades is that it's "always on". Meaning that it's "always on" in the sense that facebook messenger is. There's no logging in everyday. You can connect from any device and you're servers and configuration will be the same. I have it on my phone, my macbook, my gaming rig and my workstation. And switching devices is seamless.

Another big thing is that it promotes community. That "always on" part of it means that you're always connected to, in this instance, your clan. Off-topic and spontaneous conversations mean a lot when it comes to team building... etc. So yeah - the social aspect of it is something I really appreciate and wish more people, especially in tanks, would move to. (Wargaming uses it lol)

You can tout the glories of Discord all you want, but as stated previously, in WoT TS is the dominant platform. So if the quality of the voice chat is more important to you than the variety of clan choices, good for you.

Sorry, but to be blunt, if we are in CW with you, we don’t WANT you distracted by anything else.  Otherwise you’re not a useful and reliable teammate.

Not a lot of people use Discord since most clans have already been so attached to using Teamspeak. Good luck trying to find a Discord clan, they are pretty rare and usually inactive.

You can actually be connected to two different ts servers. TS is a ton easier to use and set up as well. But I am sure you can find a clan that uses discord. But ts would be free for you as well, if it wasn't your server.

TS is free not that it's hard to switch over, if you want a good clan you might need to rethink your red line
