I hate to say it...but very carefully. You can't push to far ahead and a lot of times I will be late or just miss the "party." Having people (I hope) watch the sides of me is really important or going to specific areas where the corridor is manageable. Sniping is good as well. It's a tank where you really have to choose where you go. But when you get there..it can be so satisfying.

Its not what it does in battle. Its the fact that it slows down the queue. There is always more arty in queue than any other tank. Which is stupid.

Arty is not slowing down the queue. The amount of arty is limited in each battle. You can have as many of the other kinds of vehicles you want. So there are lots of arty players waiting in queue to join a battle. All other vehicles get in pretty quickly. At least that's my understanding of it.

You lost me on that one, how would having more arty in the que slow it down?  It would mean whenever MM is ready to start the match it has plenty of arty to choose from.

 

Personally I don't like arty and really don't like the arty strikes.  Either have real arty or use the gimmick but not both.  Believe it or not I would rather have real arty, at least their would be fewer bombs from the air.

I mean entering the queue as an artillery piece would definitely slow your queue time down as there is a limit for how many artillery can be in a game at once.

 

And also yesterday I did see a game where someone managed to get general by only playing the French artillery piece. Never died and managed to rack up over 10k damage defending which was very impressive in my opinion. Definitely, a niche group that plays the class very well.

No...not really. Nothing against arty players...but the mode has been setup to where they can take advantage of it. Want to stop the cap or even reset it? Non arty has to get eyes on and make themselves obvious or where they can get hits. Arty does not even have to be in the same sector to hit capping tanks or hit them in general. And that's where a lot of the bread and butter on ranking up comes into. While we put ourselves in danger of being hit and destroyed...arty can hit them without any fear. Can't be countered by other arty since the maps are so big and arty makes sure the base is in range. So they get more for a system that allows them to all the while the other classes has to put forth an effort. Not against arty but it's an abuse of the system and lazy. /end arty rant

SU-14-2 with arty strike/smoke/air strike! Beautiful way to start a match and beat the living crap out of TD'S/ALL HEAVY'S/. My go to weapon at the beginning especially if attacking.

Did he say arty can play with no fear! Try being in an arty when ya'll let and EBR get past. You will know fear then.

It’s the only tank I try to play. Made General 3 times last episode but things have to be just right to be able to do it.

B line attack in a SU-14-2, shoot at all three first line caps, try to keep your shots in cap zones or within 150m, get good on cap deployments on your combat reserves and you can get major in less than 16 shots and before crossing the beach no-go line. The advantage artillery has is being able to play three caps from one location. The artillery players that rank up well are getting good shots near objectives. Stay right click locked on a cap flag on reload and keep an eye on the others within range. Frontline is doing a good job of teaching players the value of movement. The number of campers wearing treadlocks is going down each episode.
