Hi Everyone,

Again Wargamming is introducing more tanks into the game (American TS-5, Swedish mediums) without addressing some real-life tanks that are missing from the game. And it seems to me that these tanks they are adding are basically Tier 8 and above. Well I have a list of German SPGs and Tank Destroyers that should be in the game.

GERMAN SPGs

Out of all the nations, the Germans have the biggest variety of SPGs due to the fact that they converted captured vehicles into SPGs. So I have here are four captured French tank that the Germans converted for you to look at. I am going to resist trying to decide what tier they should be at.

BTW, the French tier 5 premium SPG, the 105 leFH18B2, is really a German tank and not a French tank. The French never used them.

10.5cm leFH 16 auf Gw FCM(f)This is a converted FCM 36 light tank

* Quantity converted = 12 in 1942; Crew = 5; Max Speed = 24 kph

* Main Gun = 10,5cm leFH 16 L/22 (37 rounds); WOT Pen = 27; WOT Dam = 410

* Armor = 40/40/40; Turret = none; Gun Shield = 20/20/10

* http://www.wardrawings.be/WW2/Files/1-Vehicles/Axis/1-Germany/06-Panzerartillerie/Others/105mmleFH16_GW-FCM36.htm

10.5cm leFH 18 auf Gw 39H(f) This is a converted Hotchkiss H-39 light tank

* Quantity converted = 48 in 1942; Crew = 4; Max Speed = 37 kph

* Main Gun = 10.5cm leFH 18 L/28 (37 rounds); WOT Pen = 26; WOT Dam = 410

* Armor = 34/34/22; Turret = none; Gun Shield = 20/20/10

* http://www.wardrawings.be/WW2/Files/1-Vehicles/Axis/1-Germany/06-Panzerartillerie/Others/105mmleFH18_GW-39H.htm

10.5cm leFH 18 auf Gw LrS(f) This is a converted Lorraine armored personnel carrier/tractor

* Quantity converted = 24 in 1942; Crew = 4; Max Speed = 34 kph

* Main Gun = 10.5cm leFH 18/40 L/28; Pen & Dam = unknown but probably similar to the 10,5cm leFH 18 L/28

* Armor = 12/9/9; Turret = none; Gun Shield = 10/9/7

* http://www.wardrawings.be/WW2/Files/1-Vehicles/Axis/1-Germany/06-Panzerartillerie/Others/105mmleFH18_GW-LrS.htm

15cm sFH 13 auf Gw LrS(f) This is a converted Lorraine armored personnel carrier/tractor

* Quantity converted = 94 in 1942; Crew = 4; Max Speed = 34 kph

* Main Gun = 15cm sFH 13/1 (8 rounds); WOT pen = 38; WOT dam = 540

* Armor = 12/9/9; Turret = none; Gun Shield = 10/9/7

* http://www.wardrawings.be/WW2/Files/1-Vehicles/Axis/1-Germany/06-Panzerartillerie/Others/150mmsFH13_GW-LrS.htm

Now to the German tank destroyers. This list is much more extensive and includes some purposely built TDs.

But first, let's talk about the Marder TD line -> In the game, World of Tanks have the following Marder TDs:

* French Tier III FCM36 Pak40 -> This was converted from a French FCM 36 light tank into a German Marder I tank destroyer. 10 were converted in 1943 and France never used them. This is the least common Marder I TD.

* German Tier III Marder II -> This was converted from a German PzKpfw II light tank into a German Marder II TD. 851 were converted from 1942 to 1944

* German Tier IV Marder 38(t) -> This was converted from a German PzKpfw 38(t) light tank into a German Marder III TD. 1,755 were converted from 1942 to 1944

Now the Marder tanks not in the game ->

Marder I This is converted from a French Lorraine armored personnel carrier/tractor into German Marder I TD.

* Quantity converted = 170 in 1942; Crew = 4; Max Speed = 34 kph

* Main Gun = 7,5cm Pak 40/1 L/46 (40 rounds); WOT pen and damage = unknown but probably similar to the Pak 40/2 gun

* Armor = 12/9/9; Turret = none; Gun Shield = 10/9/7

There are some very interesting tanks on this list that I would like to comment on.

I could see that the 3 SPGs that mount the 105mm howitzer probably would be similar to the German French Tier V premium "105 leFH18 B2". Except (I hope) that these tanks would be in the German tech tree rather than being classified as French.

5cm Pak 36 auf PzKpfw II This tank would be interesting to play in the game only because its speed would allow you to get into position where ever you want. Ideal for the person who play aggressive. Not only does it have a decent gun but it has a turret, which is unusual for a German TD. And if you get into trouble than the tank's speed will let you re-deploy easily. Great for scouting and harassing the other team as well.

Oswald I think this tank would be tough to play and not very much fun except for fans of the Matilda and the TOG. For them, this is a must-have tank. While the tank body will be "Matilda-tough" the gun shield is garbage and will allow the other team to easily take out the tank. The gun is ok but the tank's slow speed will be its Achilles-heel since it can't get itself to the battle on time or be able to re-deploy if it gets into trouble. Needless to say, the tank would be popular with Matilda and TOG lovers. What am I saying???? Of course I need to have this tank. It is awesome!!

SdKfz 233 and 234/4 Both armored cars are basically the same except for their guns. The 233 would be a premium ride while the 234/4 can be a regular "tank destroyer" if you add the 234/3's gun (7,5cm KwK 51 L/24) to it. I would not include the 234/1 and the 234/2 Puma with the 234/3 and the 234/4 because those armored cars have turrets while the 234/3 and 234/4 do not. I would make the 234/1 and the 234/2 as a separate "light tank" while the 234/3 and the 234/4 are TDs.

Strengths for the 233 and the 234/4 are its speed and good guns. I know that the 233 carries a StuK 37 with lousy AP pen but this gun is really a low caliber derp gun. I play my Tier III PzKpfw IVA with the same 75mm StuK 37 gun and only use the HE rounds with about 5 gold rounds for emergency purposes. I have great success with this setup so I would expect if I had the 233 I would do the same thing.

One additional comment regarding armored cars in the game. They are too fast!!! When they go off road in the game, they are using their road speed. In the game, the Panhard AMD 178B has a top speed of 65 kph. In real life, the Panhard AMD 178B's road speed is 73 kph and its off-road or cross-country speed is 35 kph. I know in the game, WOT disregards the real life statistics to make game play more enjoyable, such as making the Tiger I's speed to be 40 kph where as in real life its road speed was 36 kph and its off-road speed was 16 kph. Because how much fun would it be if everyone had to drive a Tiger I up to 16 kph during a battle?

So I can understand that WG disregards some of that but the armored car speeds are just too fast for good game play.

Hetzer(d) and the Sturmhetzer I know that the Hetzer is a popular TD with its destructive 105mm derp gun. But here are two alternatives that could play very well. The current Hetzer's 75mm guns' pens are 103/139/38 and 110/158/38 while the Hetzer(d)'s pen is at 150/194/38. Much more impressive so much so I wonder if WG will a) add this gun to the Hetzer or b) make this a premium tank.

The Sturmhetzer is another interesting version of the Hetzer. A 150mm derp gun on the stealthy Hetzer would be amazing to play.

Brummbar A medium sized TD with a 150mm howitzer and sloped 100mm frontal armor. Do I have to draw a picture on how OP this tank could be?

Sturmpanther The regular Tier VII Panther in the game is ok to play mainly because most of the tanks it goes up against are just plain better. I do like playing the Tier VI Panther prototype tank, the VK 30.02(M), because it plays more like a real Panther than the Tier VII version. So a version of the Panther that mounted a 150mm howitzer in a turret is definitely something that would be incredible and awesome to play. I am ready for it!!!

Bar The Germans lack a Tier X bad a.s.s. tank destroyer in the game. I know that the Jagdpanzer E100, the Waffentrager E100 and the Grille 15 are really good but their guns are puny (170mm, 128mm and 150mm respectfully) compared to the Bar's 305mm cannon. Even the German heavy tanks in the game do not have a gun comparable to the Bar's boomstick. Wow... this tank would be awesome to play.

Sturmtiger I did not include this on my list since the Bar was the Sturmtiger's predecessor and I thought that the Bar would make an ideal Tier X TD. Which would make the Sturmtiger a Tier XI TD. I really don't know what tier the Bar would be placed into, it just seems to me to be a Tier X TD.

Finally, WG.... please add more tiers so you can add modern tanks. If you want to keep up with War Thunder and the rest of the competition, then you need to add modern tanks into the game and that would entail adding more Tiers.

Anyway, I'm glad you all liked my list of needed tanks and I hope some of them are added to the game instead of another Object tank.
