don't forget the accordion

The accordion counts as spaced armour,  but only if Major A. Jankovic is your commander.

Just bought the 252u, just so I can have both for frontlines lol.  No more waiting for my point capture tank now.

this is why I bought the 252u to go with the Defender I got in the Christmas loot boxes

both are set up the same but the 252U has 87 as its insignia

Defender is a premium tank

what is the DP-28 mentioned?  Does it have decent enough speed for frontline?

extra gun to engage light tanks(wheelies) independent of the main 122mm armament

I have the IS-3 and don't really like it much.  Is the Defender or 252u that much better?

If you don't like or do poorly in the is3 then take a pass on these tanks as they play exactly the same. They have better armor and a higher damage gun though.

The gun is bit too derpy for the longer ranges in frontline, plus, at some stage the "hand of Stalin" snapshot got quietly nerfed on it, same as IS-3A; now you got to wait for the gun to aim in. I find the Polish heavy does better in FL, armour holds up almost as well against tier 8s and the gun is waaayy more reliable, plus you can play hull down on ridges. I suck at heavies though, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Gun definitely not as good as it used to be; Skill mentioned it couple times in his streams and even someone like me, who much prefers lights, can notice it. Used to be able to just snap when brawling, now the distribution of the spread is much wider. To put it in WoWs terms, WG nerfed the sigma...

I personally like putting camo on tanks, and even though I own both I really only play the defender

You talked me into it

The Tank Reward coupons helped.  I was hoping I could use my 30% coupon on it, but my 30% coupon expired yesterday.

Also, these new Tank Reward coupons are only good for 3 days  ... not 30 days like they were last year.

the defender is slightly cheaper as it includes the camo for free, while the OBJ 252U costs the same, you then have to shell out a few hundred gold to put on camo for it and this ups the end price slightly.   If you compare the stats directly you'll see the Defender has a 2% better camo rating (God awful on the Defender vs OMG awful on the OBJ252u) until you buy or rent camo for it.  Its probably not that important since this tank is about as stealthy as a raging bull elephant, but it is rather mobile and if you have to relocate for some reason you might want that 2%.

They are both premium tanks.

So why the 2 tanks if they are exactly the same? Makes no sense to me …

WG Marketing: We need to sell more tanks. You there in Development!  You got any new tanks.

Dev: Uhhh, no, but we have many fine tanks already.

WG Marketing: Remind me why we keep you around.

Dev: How about we make a copy of an existing tank, remove mud flaps, add a different skin and give it a new, flashy name?

WG Marketing: We'll make it more patriotic version and sell millions. Am I a genius or what?

Dev:...........

WG Marketing: I said, am I a genius or what?!?

Dev: Yes, you are!
