Besides the Russian medium nerfs, what I like about this change is this one sentence referring to the Leopard changes:
"We also want to properly reconfigure the entire branch and check the effects of our changes on the researchable vehicles."

Does that mean the Indien-Panzer might get its desperately-needed buffs? If so... WOO-HOO!

I am still disappointed that they aren't buffing the T20 and Pershing though, in my opinion, they need some slight improvements.

WG is better at what they do then we give them credit for...      the positive thing to be taken here is,,    WG has completed a survey/in game study and it is still going on in that line,,  what could possible be wrong with that,,,

no matter how much testing done in test mode,, the icing on the cake is how effective the tank is when played by the masses..  throw out the very best and the terribly bad and adjust the tank to fit the style of the masses...  I am okay with that....

i seem to find WOT makes changes all the time.  change is always good, even if it is a bad one...  won't know until you stick your toe in the pool...  i am sure more changes to other tanks and lines are coming … i can't wait.....

if the change is bad for your style of play, perhaps another tank in another line is what we need to focus on...…  until they change something else..  i am ready for what ever they throw out there...

The STB pen and shell nerfs just make it so it's still relegated to "not buy back" on my list.  I loved my STB-1 at first but it's just not competitive.  I'll play the new swediums instead.

The larger irony is that the new STB would have taken on all the problems we now see in the current 30b that they're trying to fix in the very same update. As of the new siege mediums, liked the first test version better- when hey had less armor but more pen.

From the thread's title, I was expecting some 90's style political comedy

Have any of the devs even played the STB1?  I was hoping for a buff not turning it into a complete steaming pile.

Reduce the Leo's hps... good call.  Exactly what it needed.

Honestly I feel like more pen and less armor kind of go against the Swedish doctrine. Sure the STRV-103-B has great standard pen, dpm, camo and armor but it doesn't have huge alpha.  The mediums have higher alpha, better armor, and less pen. I feel like it fits with the lines as a mix between heavy and TD.  The heavies don't have incredible pen, but have very hard turrets.  They have gun depression.  These are kind of like a mix of both and I like that.  I feel like if they had meh armor and high pen they wouldn't really stand out.

I think you've had too much WoT Koolaid.

Talk to me about the 268.4 upon release and the LONG [edited]time it took to FINALLY nerf the damn thing...

It took like 60-90 days to change the 268.4.

The Leopard 1 would like a word with you over in the corner...

I'd say the high point of the Swedish mediums is actually the Strv 74 for its 15 degrees of depression and outstanding gun handling. Its turret armor was paper but that was fine because you were in and out so quickly. That style seems more interesting and less generic than a high-tier analog that has to aim carefully because of the bad pen and is okay with chilling in front of enemy guns because the turret is autobounce city.

I think what people need to do in the future is, play these tanks that are in testing to the worst of your ability.  That way when they collect data, they will actually improve the tanks instead of neutering them into mediocrity.

The t20 and pershing are great tanks.  I loved my T20.

I loved my T20. I loathe my Pershing with a passion. IIRC he had a ~55% WR in the T20, and 45% in the Pershing. I cannot figure out how to play that tank for the life of me.
