Note there is some contradiction.  Aslains modpack is one of the approved ones.

BUT:

Aslains modpack INCLUDES the 'Direction of closest enemy' mod.  He has been good about removing stuff that is banned so I assume that this will be gone soon.

Also a question.  Is the 'ATAC' mod in Aslains not allowed?  (Lights up when an enemy tank is within 100 meters.)

Since the stated policy seems to be that Aslains is on the 'approved' list.  Can we safely assume that we will not be banned for using anything in it?  It sure makes life easier.

Quoted directly from the announcement page:

'The Mod Hub is still the only place to download various mods officially approved by Wargaming, without worrying
about policy violations.'

Can we rely 100% on the above statement????

As stated, the list isn't updated until June 1st.  By that time, the mod creators will have to comply with the regulations or we will remove the mods that break our rules.

Just cut to the chase and make ALL 3RD PARTY GAME PLAY modes illegal. Allow any garage related mods, since they don't affect game play. Its time to stop this nickel and diming with mods and get rid of them. The vast majority of players want a game that everyone plays by the same rules period.

"Showing direction of guns on minimap" is now banned...  Guess I won't be buying anymore premium time.  Oh well, was fun while it lasted.

We had a sayin' in the Army, "if you ain't Cheatin' you ain't Tryin'."   Yet if the task doen't need cheatin'  why are you tryin'.

I just use the vanilla XVM Mod from modxvm.com. I can't find this stand alone on the WOT Mod page. All of the Mod packs that include XVM seem to want to muck it up with blocky fonts that look they came from an Apple 1. How can I get the same exact vanilla XVM Mod from the WOT Mod page without any changes by the mod pack assembler?

The zoom needs to be banned.I do use the equipment reloader and replay manager. If mods are banned I'll dump them.

Good now to add more basic mods into the client :P

EXACTLY! The ONLY reason I use a modpack is to help manage the crews/swappable equipmnet of 108+ tanks in my collection. Why not make this an integral part of the game? Clicking 20 times to swap from a premium to non isn't exactly my idea of fun. It's downright laborious.

Honestly if I could be assured that Wargaming is catching all mods, I’d be perfectly fine with a complete ban of mods at this point.  This would include XVM if needed.  Problem is I know for a fact that people run mods that are illegal and are not banned, so it’s hard to have faith in the declaration that they are getting the cheaters.  Maybe they get some, but many get away with it.

What goldfinger said, make all mods illegal. If wargaming thins it should be in the game, put it in the game. Stop being so damn wishy washy and do it.

Fair Play -

"The Mod Hub is still the only place to download various mods officially approved by Wargaming, without worrying about policy violations. So if you are in doubt whether any modification is a cheat or not, just visit the Mod Hub to discover all the verified and newest mods for World of Tanks."

Mod Hub download notice -

"Please note that mods are created by World of Tanks players, not Wargaming. While all mods featured on the portal undergo basic checks and preliminary tests, we do not bear any responsibility regarding their performance,
quality, and safety. Thank you for your understanding and have fun!"

Which is it?

hahahahaa. Cheater

haha... [edited]YOU.  I am not a cheater and I despise those that do.  I will remove the mod before it becomes illegal on June 1st.

With that being said, I will also probably no longer be playing as this was a major improvement in game play and the ability to play tactics (as opposed to just drive around and get shot).  I feel that if they enemy tank is spotted, why not also relay there gun direction as well as there position.  This is not unreasonable to me.

Thank you and goodnight.

whats next, remove WG's red flash when you get hit, or the markers that tell u which way an enemy tank hit you from?.. seems some WG player decided he needed to find another reason why they are bad. I personally think WG should remove the 3 second 6th sense delay.. and stop having people get spotted when they are un-spotted, and fire a kill shot on a tank.. most idiotic thing in the game, as if they would really be able to tell your location when they are pulverized to every other tank on their team.. maybe worry about all the bugs first for once.. as for the mods, could care less, i don't play enough to worry about any mods..

You do know if you spot an enemy tank they can figure your location out from when they got spotted so if your scouting or sitting in an obvious bush that is well used you might be blindfired, the latter might happen even if you didn't spot the enemy, E1 bush in prok is very common to be blindfired. there are some others but I'm to lazy to pull up all the maps and point them out.

these should have never been legal in the first place.  Anybody using them should be banned ASAP, not waiting til next month.

First 2 are dumb to ban as the least amount of situational awareness and or rotating your cam around would give you that info.

the mod tells you everyones direction, not just ones you can easily see.  If somebody is behind a rock you cant tell until you drive around(unless you are using an illegal mod)

You do have a point there.. But if there is an enemy tank that is in LOS of any friendly tank gun direction indicators should be good to go...

Typo here:

  • Enabling automatic use of non-Premium consumables before the battle results announcement
  • Shouldnt it be "Software that enables the automatic use of non-Premium consumables."?

Also, shouldnt that be "Any" Consumable?

Attention Tankers!

The ban hammer is expanding its range across more mods, so be prepared!  The following mods aren't a target just yet for our hammer but it will be by June 1st.

1. Showing the direction of guns on the minimap:

2. Displaying arrows to the closest opponents:

3. Marking adversaries beyond the draw distance (using red columns, spheres, etc.):

Note: We'll initiate another massive ban wave, based on the current (non-updated) version of our Fair Play Policy, in the near future. However, the following ban wave takes into account the updated list of cheats, and we'll definitely penalize those who continue to use the above-mentioned unfair mods, contrary to our warnings.

For the full list of details and prohibited mods, follow the link provided below:

Fair Play Policy: Updated List of Prohibited Mods

GLHF and play fair!

"

  • Leaving any tags or indicators located on the playing field where the opponent was spotted by someone from the player’s team"

So in addition to adding super fast tanks that are hard to aim at, we can no longer have last spotted locations.

You REALLY are trying to push the older guys away eh?

Is your data telling you that it's really the young crybabies that are pumping money into the game??  I HIGHLY doubt it....
