For those who haven't seen the mission yet, the WZ 132-1 On Track has reverted back to the "Old Style"

I only have 10 tanks left to research, so for me the choice is obvious.

BUT I also believe the "New" Style gets more people to play the tanks that are on track and gets them to probably play old tanks they don't use much.

I don't mind entering a code as long as it is out before the event officially starts (Post hits news at server reset is fine) and if it means we get better events like the cash back I'm not going to complain. I like the cash back since it allows me to buy a tank and sell it right away and net zero loss, rather than having them hold up garage slots till the event is over to do it.

I think people overestimate the benefit of the new model. If you are grinding through the line, you don't get any benefit at all... all you get is the hurdle of having to play 10 matches just to get your credits back vs the old model. And I think the benefit of retro getting back credits is overvalued. How many of us really have these old tanks just sitting around in the garage? And even if we do, is the benefit really that great? We'll most likely end up missing out on more deals than we'll get back playing 10 matches in our t6 vehicles

Last Event, I had already purchased the E4 a while back.

I played 10 games in the E4 = 1.83 Million Credits

I played 10 games in the T30 = 1.065 Million Credits

I played 10 games in the Hellcat = 285k Credits

Net $3,180,000 credits for 30 games.  I sold the T28 Proto, or I would have played that too.

This Event, I already have the WZ 132-1 Unlocked.

I will buy it for 4.27 Million Credits

Net saving:  $1,830,000 Credits

But I probably won't play a single game in that entire tank line.

In this Specific Case, I don't care much, but MOST of the time I will have already researched the entire line AND purchased all the tanks.  So I will again, play 0 games in that tank line.

The old format was the best:

  • 2 weeks long, starting and ending on a Friday
  • Interesting and varied Reward Tanks
  • XP multiplier for all Tiers (now top tiers only get extra Crew XP)
  • Zero unnecessary steps like entering codes
  • Discount without having to play the tanks first (though I see this has returned to normal for the WZ-132-1 On-Track)

Varied Reward Tanks???  M22 anyone?  And grinding out 250,000 XP for a tier 3 premium I will never play is NOT going to happen.  Back when it was a tier 5, it was barely worth the effort.

XP was only up to like tier 6 or 7, top tiers were always CREW

Yeah, codes suck

% off IS best for people still grinding out the line, but MANY players have already finished most of the tank lines.

Where is this On Track mission for the WZ-132-1 you speak of?

According to the April sneak peaks, it was to start today. I do not see it.

Why would WG post the EVENT, much less the code on the actual web site???

COME ON NOW....

Both are good on their own way, one helps you advance on a line, the other lets you profit off lines you already have tanks from.

When I paid more attention to on tracks I usually played all the tanks on the line on my garage to get the 250k XP faster either way, so why not add an extra cash to it?

That said, if they implement the cash back thingy I hope JPz E 100/IS-4/E 100 or Pz. VII comes next.

I prefer a hybrid.  You get a discount on unpurchased tanks and a refund for those already in the garage.  Rewards both long term players with something, and new players with discounts up front.

Codes should be for opting OUT of something.

I have every tank in the WZ-132-1 line except for the Tier X that I'm working on. I have no reason to play those older tanks this time though. If it was the cash back format, I'd play the 10 games in each. I'm guessing it was an experiment and WG is figuring out which format is most profitable. Getting people to either play more at a bunch of tiers, or grind and spend more on 1 tier.

stupid codes are stupid. it cant be harder to add a 'sort by letter' function in the ingame missions page. the codes have to be A LOT more work by comparison
