First, everything in the wiki is true, this tank can go from terribad to really terribad and then a good game.

The link:  http://wiki.wargamin...:R115_IS-3_auto

So, taking into consideration all the stuff the dev team did to gimp this tank, i could go on about not penning pretty much every armored TD and HT T8 and up, however, my question is, it seems every shot tracks me. So am I missing something in the equipment?

I have the vertical stabilizer, enhanced gun laying drive, and improved vents. Is there equipment I'm overlooking and should mount so I stop dropping tracks with every shot? Being perma-tracked against tanks I cannot pen is not the best experience.

There's a heavy duty track you can equip that increases module hit points but you'd have to sacrifice vents or something. IIRC not every tank has the heavy duty suspension option.

The IS tanks are notoriously easy to track, and there's not really much you can do to mitigate that, other than changing your play. The best you can do is to always be cognizant of what you are exposing, and thus make sure that your drive wheels are hidden.

Edit: The IS-3A needs all the equipment help it can get, and so I would not recommend running toolbox.

2 repair kits. use the small kit first, and keep your large kit available unless absolutely necessary. train crew with repairs.

if your engine is being hit, you are out of position anyway so getting torched is the least of your problems.

Vents, Stabilizer, and Optics on mine....     I also have a 6 Skill Crew in mine, 5 Full and the 6th Working...

My Opinion, the most Important Piece of Equipment in this, or any Tank for that matter, is the Crew....      The other stuff is more a matter of how you Play the Tank, but the Crew is the Foundation that the rest all Sits on....       At the Start of the Top Video for sure, you'll see my Crew and Equipment Layout, it's probably in the second as well....

You are not missing equipment.

Mitigate the issue by:

a full set of repairs on all your crew to speed repair

run a large repair kit (for repair speed bonus)

change play style - manage exposure, learn how to hide drive wheel and round corners better

Thanks for the pointers - I do try to hide the tracks, however, sometimes you just have to move and when I do off they go.

And I'm working on crew skills, thanks again everyone for the pointers. There are some games this tank is amazing ....

Also, Frontline is a Great place to Practice as well because it's No Harm, No Foul Tanking since doesn't count against you as you Work on it.....       Just a Late Addition to the Idea List....

This really is a terrible tank, I'm glad I did not pay for it. Everything pens it, and it has a really hard time penning equal tier HTs. Forget about t9s and up. I did the double repair kits, now arty hits catch me on fire. Thank you RNg.
