How about if someone is new, or truly terrible, they lose the option to disable chat?

There are actually people who will offer these players helpful advice.

 

What I really want is all chat back but whatever. It's only the way I made friends in this online game...

I'd almost want to do the opposite, more often than not it's raging tomatoes in chat. For the most part, the odd time you try to help them they just ignore it anyway and it's not because they have chat off since they do respond.

No need to give the RAGERS an outlet, especially on someone new to the game...

Yes that's the party line, and you will forever stick to it. Love to see the % of games it happened in. I saw it very occasionally. People normally admonished the person who did it too.

 

The way WG handles chat is the only thing I'd like to see changed in this "online" game.

Id like to see the % of games where the last tank left is camping, and where cross chat allowed for a quick end to an otherwise painful 10 minutes of waiting.

You see rage still? Maybe it's my timezone, I see very little. Most games there's no chat at all.

How often do you see rage these days? I rarely do.

 

Yeah new players can get angry, it can come from a place of not understanding the game mechanics. Disabling chat doesn't help them learn.

Pretty frequently realistically. I know I see rage most often several times every day if I'm on for hours. Most matches typically have people just yelling in chat about how pissed they are over something or one really stupid team-mate that's absolutely clueless or playing like a bot. Sometimes it goes as far as people getting nasty with eachother or one elite snob trying to call everyone else on the team "crappers" (forums so I can't use the actual term) and blaming everyone for the loss, and attacking anyone who tries to get them to chill.

Definitely NO to returning enemy chat... thank goodness that mess is dead for good (I hope).

 

Why do you want to remove a new player's ability to escape the tantrums of self appointed armchair Generals who want to abuse and berate them in chat ?

 

You want to FORCE players whom you judge to be "bad", to have to read your orders of how they should play.  Sad.

Gotta be a timezone thing. I don't play prime time as it's my afternoon. Makes sense people are less patient at end of a long day.

That word is used a lot here. Not even correctly often. Perhaps you want to try another insult?

 

I don't see any evidence of whining in my post, but lets say I am. Here are some other words you could try:

beef, bleat, carp, complaint, fuss, grievance, gripe, grouch, grouse, grumble, holler, kvetch, lament, miserere, moan, murmur, plaint, squawk, wail, whimper, whinge [British], yammer

I have been placing the phrase "GL & HF, if not, please let us all know by raging in chat ", into pre battle chat, once my team has loaded into battle, during the countdown. Partially, in hopes that a little embarrassment with calm the rage, but mostly for a wee bit of humor. The responses I receive, give a quick indication on who will most likely rage after their teammates let them die and have the need to vent. 

 

Those that are gonna rage, will do it whether all chat or team chat is available.

I see rage every day, not *every* game but in most

 

It's gotten to the point where I'm not really paying attention to the chat because there's hardly ever any useful info there and if there is it's buried in between useless raging or useless map pinging

 

Why WG insists that it's a useful thing to be able to ping the map repeatedly but puts a limit on how often you can "request fire" while you're passively scouting is beyond me but apparently pinging the map is important

1. Remove ride along feature when you are dead. Means you can not follow a particular teammate after you die.
2. Give the eye in the sky overview like frontlines has to everyone who is dead. They can now watch the battle to it's end.
3. Anyone that is dead and is using the over watch view can no see tanks that are not spotted. Not un spotted green or unspotted read.
4. turn all chat back on ! most are happy
