Poll: Silent as the Grave (108 members have cast votes)

You have to complete 100 battle in order to participate this poll.

Should Dead players be Silent?

  1. Yes, the dead should not be able to speak in general chat. They can chat in platoon and ping the map if needed, but otherwise Silence is the rule for those in the Grave. (41 votes [37.96%] - View)

    Percentage of vote: 37.96%

  2. I'm not sure. Sometimes the dead should be able to speak. Maybe have a time limit of 10 seconds for the Dead to impart knowledge, but then they are Silent. (13 votes [12.04%] - View)

    Percentage of vote: 12.04%

  3. No, the Dead should always be able to speak. They keep talking to the living giving tactics and advice, and the hate and vulgarity can be ignored. (54 votes [50.00%] - View)

    Percentage of vote: 50.00%

A while back Wargaming made the decision to remove inter team chat. No longer could you toss insults to the enemy, and it removed much of the vitriol and anger from the game.

Now, the major source is the dead player who instead of accepting their fate feels compelled to sling hate and vulgarity towards his teammates for their supposed slights and errors in tactics.

What do you all think? Should the Dead be Silent? Would it improve the ambiance of the game? I surely think so.

Vote and let's see if Wargaming listens!

Lets just all be passive aggressive and put on our fake faces when playing. Some examples:

“I wish i could play and not worry about winning like you”

“OMG i love your effort and enthusiasm. I mean, who cares if you did no damage and just yoloed. Its the spirit that counts”

“Wow how did you get to tier 10 with a wn8 of 50? Youre so smart to use a bot! I wish i knew how to be as smart as you!”

Maybe give them an "I'm a dead rager" chat channel... :great:

...or the "I'm a deceased armchair general" channel... :P

I used to give my team the intel like tree fall-downs near my dead tank or remaining HP of enemy tanks even I know no one listens.

And my chat is off now. So...

I'd probably be content with the fact that they stop dead players from continually pinging the map after they're dead... In fact, during the game, you should be given a 30 second (or more/whatever) time out for pinging the map relentlessly.  I know you can block them but if you're focusing on the enemy... it's distracting to have to do that...

I voted not sure.... sometimes (not very often) dead players are very helpful... an example being telling you the remaining HP of the tank that killed them.

95% of the times.... its miserable chumps griefing at you because you didn't charge into a TD trap in a bottom tier medium to be the meat shield to allow them to show off their greatness.

You can turn chat off either do so or learn to live with it on.

To be honest, I see myself winning WAY more when I chat with my team... So turning off chat for dead people isnt good.

Dead silence..i like it.

No dead chat period.

If one sides dead are raging and the other is actually giving Intel, that's an unfair advantage.

It really is a cheat by all accounts.

Plus I'm sick of the dead chat trolls.

And please quit telling me to disable game features

Thank You!

Dead arty should be silent :)

Usually they talk the most about how team did not bother to defend them.

WG should impliment a corner graveyard on the map where all dead tankers can make comments about how bad their teammates were.

I have chat on, even though I'm tired of dealing with the people that are toxic to other players.  Though you get the same level of toxic from players that are still alive most of the time.  So turning off chat for dead players doesn't fix the over all problem of toxic players.  I'd say leave it on as some people do try to relay useful information after they die, such as what hit them from where.

What would be really fun is if the super toxic players that super care about their stats.  Had to deal with a giant number only they can see in their garage showing them how many times they have been reported by the in game reporting system over the last week.  Have it show in big bold letters letting them know how much other players think they are [edited]ters(as they like to say) for being toxic [edited]hats in chat.

I think the potential of dead players giving out game-winning advice and information to allies outweighs the cons of the rare toxic chat.

I wouldn't miss never hearing from the dead again. Mostly it's just a bunch of crap.

I voted that the dead should be silent but TBH I really don,t care I find it so easy to ignore all chat 99.99% of the time I forget its even there

What I do want silenced though is the constant map pinging from both live and dead muppets a single ping maybe 2 at most is enough to highlight a problem we don,t need players having the ability to fill the left side of the screen for most of the match constantly pinging all over the bloody map

It would be nice if the devs would restrict the amount of pings players could do to maybe 3 per minute
