As soon as I saw this announcement I knew the tin-foil crew would be out in full force, not disappointed.   Sometimes I wonder how some people can make it through life so utterly paranoid...

Last time I installed this thing it bricked up my computer's access to the internet.

Completely.

Simply uninstalling the thing did not resolve the issue and I spend\t a tremendously frustrating afternoon on my phone trying to find a solution to the problem.

If this happens again I will simply dump all WG titles, permanently.

Did it do it every time you installed or just that once? That seems like kind of a drastic measure if its only a one time issue.

For what it's worth, I have the WGC launcher thing and I think it's pretty slick. Not saying others haven't had issues, but my experience has been pretty ok.

I agree with this;  I have yet to have an issue with WGC and have used it since the beta rollout.

Will there be a way to disable the WGC so that Computer Clubs or other groups can log on and play with a limited number of computers as compared to the number of members in the group that would normally play?

i want it.

what would you rather have WG do?

It runs in the background irregardless if you select it not to.  Takes up resources.  Yes I know how to kill the process.  My preference would be to offer both.  For those whom play more than one wargaming title the center is fine.  For those that only play one title, leave the old launcher.

So 2 for now and 5 for WGC? I double click a shortcut on the desktop.

Anyway, all this arguing over methods of counting clicks is missing the point.   The point is using the WGC would take more effort and remove functionality compared to my current procedure.

Funnily enough  it also takes me 2 clicks to get into WoT... with WGC.

1. Click on WGC in the task bar (because you can pin things to the taskbar now).

2. Click play.

Thats it. Once I click play I wait for a bit and then Im dropped in my garage ready to play. If I want to play Common test I can add 2 clicks to manipulate the drop down for selecting the CT client, before clicking play. Warships is a 3rd click. The Warships CT is a bit more because of how they have their common test set up (7 clicks total), but I dont normally play on the Warships test so I rarely have to do that. I also dont bother closing WGC because Ive never seen it use resources like people say it does, and Ive been using it since before the public release.

As for "effort": Youre clicking a mouse button. There is so little effort involved that even bringing it up makes you look silly.

You know you can close the WGC the moment you enter the game, right?

Pretty simple, the launcher works with internet explorer, and you don't realize it until you don't keep updating IE.  And IIRC Microsoft is pulling IE support in the near future. Then it'll be a real challenge to update WoT.  The WGC is working fine so far (knock on wood).

If I log into NA, play for a few hours with no lag and then log out, why would the next time I log in be to the SA server? I live in Kentucky, not Texas.

Thats the only thing I don't like about the launcher. Sometimes I get in a hurry and don't realize I have been logged into the SA server. Of course I figure it out real quick when in the first game I get constant lag spikes of 999. Other than that, do I really give a crap about 3 clicks vs 6 clicks? Really?

The WGC does not login you in nor does it send you to the SA server, that is done by the game client. You can go into the game client settings, first tab, and go all the way to the bottom left and check the box next to "Display server selection upon game launch" then you can select you server every time.

WGC sucks because you can't update ships and tanks at the same time among other limitations.

So we will have to have the wg center thing that everyone complains about?  All I have to do is click three buttons now and im in game .  With all due respect, can we work on the issues that are rampant, and stop changing things that have a chance of breaking more things?

Your pleas will go unregarded.WG is in denial about anything that doesnt put more m

It works, it is their game, it's free, so suck it up buttercup. And for all you butt hurt ones....here's a tissue.:arta:

Exactly - I am not excited about the requirement to have the WG Game Center to participate on the Common Test Server but as the content owner Wargaming can restrict access to their content [the game app] as they seem fit [provided it does not violate local law].

Hopefully Wargaming will integrate the WG Mods Portal so that when you launch the Game Center will tell you if you are running unsanctioned mods and allow you to update to the sanctioned mods BEFORE you log into the game.

I, for one, would want to know if one of the mods I downloaded as automatically flagged BEFORE I log in versus going to the WG Mods Portal constantly and checking.

Should drastically cut down on the [I just got banned and do not know why] spam in the Forums ...

Looking forward to the gnashing of teeth and wails when the game goes native 64-bit and those individuals with 32-bit MS Windows find out they have to reformat their boot drive as well as buy a new version of MS Windows just to run the game ...

Ah, I see what your saying. I stand corrected then. I thought the client used to save that. I still don't understand why the client keeps dumping me into the SA server.

Now all you have to do is wait for the game center to stop running and boom you have 27+ gigs of hard drive space for a game that doesn't force people to use WG's Gaycenter

There is no ETA on when this change will go live, and is just a warning that there is yet another WG product to be removed from your pc.

Even though i know WG doesn't mind losing a few thousand players i just wanted to thank you for this........

Now i can uninstall this game and blame the reason on you.

Is that in the survey? meh......you care as much as i do :P

I installed the GameCenter for the WoT Classic event, I didn't really have any problems with it, but I'm still traumatized from the first time I installed the thing, Digital cancer. Please don't make this mandatory. I'll be clinging to the good old fashioned WoT Launcher for as long as I can. . .

Howdy Boom Jockeys!

This here is a general announcement for the transition of the common test from the Launcher to the WGC. To make things more neat and tidy on your desktop, we have integrated the Common Test in the WGC.

Now all you have to do is click a few buttons in your WGC and bam you are in the CT galavanting around in the future tanks of your dreams.

For more information on these changes please click HERE

There is no ETA on when this change will go live, and is just a friendly heads up.

Isn't the REAL question:

"Is it FINALLY going to tell people when and what time there is a server restart or update coming??"

You know.....like nearly every game out there does.....for years..

If not, why bother with it???
