Just finished reading this thread:

http://forum.worldof...than-the-amx40/

...and I have around 20 battles in the 14TP and wondering why I really need to continue down this line.  I still don't have the best gun, but it still feels like the worst tank in the game.  I heard the 25TP is better, but how much better, really?  Has anything changed since Sept 2018 in that above thread?  I'm thinking about getting the best gun, trying a few battles then selling it.  Can someone convince me otherwise?:sceptic:

25TP "Frankenpole" is as good in combat as it is in beauty contest.  45TP is great.

Play all the tanks and find out if you like them or not.  Other peoples thought on the various tanks in this game don't all ways line up with yours.  Like I thought the polish line was just fine, some of the tanks were weak, others were great, some down right annoying.

Obviously, I could play them myself and find out for sure.  I'm just wondering what other thoughts are on it right now.  OK, so the T7 45TP is good, but is it worth going through the rest of the T4, T5 and T6 tanks to get there?

I've gone down the entire Polish line and from my perspective:

Tiers I-IV: garbage

Tier V: 25TP is pretty good

Tier VI: omg, this thing is a turd on treads! EVERYTHING about it sucks: gun, armor, speed, ammo. everything. It's a tank that lacks an identity. It's too slow to be a medium, but not strong enough to be a heavy. Free XP past it if you can.

Tier VII: OK, IMO, this is where the line starts to show it's worth. Darn punchy gun and decent mobility. Armor is slightly lacking, especially the turret. But that gun. Wow. 320 alpha at Tier VII. Just like the T29. the 45TP is a darn good tank. If you play it like the T29, you'll do just fine.

Tier VIII: 53TP is a darn good heavy. One of my favorites, if not THE favorite Tier VIII heavy I play. Decent mobility and armor, especially the turret. And the Tier IX gun...Holy Cow! 420 alpha that makes Defender drivers cry! Why? the standard round can pen them in the FRONT and it's much more accurate and higher DPM than the comparable Russian guns at that tier.

https://tanks.gg/tank/53tp/stats?cs=defender

It's faster, has better view range and gun depression. So, it has lower HP, but when you're making Defender drivers shat their pants...who cares? I've turned some of my clan mates onto this little honey and we've used it quite effectively in Skirmishes.

Tier IX: The 50TP is the Tier VIII on STEROIDS! The armor is much more troll, especially the turret. Gun punches HARD. REALLY hard. the ONLY heavy that does more damage than this thing is the Type IV. that's right. more than a Mauschen, the obj 705, the Emil II. You name it. but if you thought THAT gun hurts...

Tier X: You think the 50TP is evil? Well, look no further. the 60TP is EVIL INCARNATE. A 152mm boom stick that will make a IS-7 driver have an accident in his pants. the gun has a HIGHER alpha than the Type V. Let that sink in: Higher than the Type V.  and the 705A. and the Super Conq. and....you get the picture. It's armor is way troll and it's turret armor will bounce shells like no tomorrow. And for a heavy tank, it's pretty mobile.

That's my two cents worth....

AND THEN THE WINGED HUSSARS ARRIVED!!!!

Basically, if I'm willing to go thru a little more garbage, a pretty good, and a turd on treads, then I'll be OK?  Hmmm......I usually stop at Tier7, so looks like I'll eventually have a good tank.  But sounds like you can't play the 45TP exactly like a T29 because the turret doesn't have the T29 turret armor, correct?

Yep, that's correct on the 45TP: the armor for the turret isn't troll like the T29, but it has good gun depression and a hard hitting gun.

The Duck is good, the OP on that thread needs to get gud.

The 14TP is indeed trash, I used the autoloader with all gold to get past it. Once you get the 25TP you will want to spend 10k free XP to get the first gun, otherwise it'll suck too. Fully upgraded the 25TP is dececent, large as a house and no armor, yes, but it's also fast and the gun works nicely, decent pen and alpha damage for a 75mm, while it isn't the best tier 5 med it's certainly better than the P.43.

better than the P.43 could be good; a friend let me play his for 3 battles once.

I skipped tiers I-IV, and I haven't bought 60TP yet. I have it unlocked.

25TP is really, really good. 40TP was meh. 45TP is a T29/IS hybrid, and both of those are great heavies. 53TP was fun, like a thinking man's IS-3. 53TP is brutal but effective. I've heard 60TP is really good too.

It's only the tier 6 that doesn't shine tier-for-tier. Sure, there are more OP options for each tier, but it's a really solid line.

I'll wait until I try the 25TP to make a decision on this line.  Thanks everyone!:)

I free XP’d to tier 7, so I can’t comment on the lower tier ones, beyond that there was a reason I burned the free XP lol. The 45TP is good, the gun is great and the armor and mobility are fine. The 53TP is good, insane gun handling for 420 alpha; the weak UFP is annoying but manageable. The 50TP is great, again great punchy gun, decent armor, acceptable mobility. The 60TP is fun, but the low penetration can get really frustrating.

Next time test server is up, go play the 60TP. You like big boom stick that doesn’t have a flat turret? It’s the solution to that. Personally 7-10 is what makes the line. The rest just get you there, it’s all about good alpha for the tier.

I mean, you have 152mm HE for when your pen isn't enough.

Look at 45TP, look how small and cute it is! Its a pocket HT!

Those are its two main advantages. Enemy will ignore you because you do not look dangerous, when under fire you can snuggle in safe spots T29 would never fit into, and anyone who tries to poke you will get badly hurt in return. Its panzer head is also suprisingly durable against hellrain from above.

Tier 6 is indeed very underwhelming, and tier 8 is simply very heavy IS.  Tier 5 and 7 are fun, and offer something special.

You have a good point there. The HE rounds on the Polish line from Tier VIII on up are nasty. REALLY nasty. they do a boat load of damage, even when they don't pen.

I was surprised when I loaded HE for the first time on the 53TP and was doing around 300 points of damage each shot. That's pretty darn good IMO.

I'm at tier 6 and it's painful. If I didn't have the tier 8 premium I'd probably give up.  At least I have a decent heavy crew waiting.

Not sure if I can make it to Tier V; the 14TP is painful enough.  I will continue for a little while though.

Just remember: it's just my opinion that once you get to Tier VII, the Polish line starts to get really fun.

Maybe it's because I'm half Polish, I might be a bit biased. Family pride and all....
