subjective contests are about as good as the lottery.

give us some real contests where the judges aren't idiots, corrupt, or fickle...indeed my very point, don't have judges at all. do an objective contest.

I think it would be cool to have a [PLAYERS] only [vote], it would be cool B) ...however the Dev's would of course have the right to moderate,...but in hindsight they would have to prove a good reason for any disqualification of a PLAYER VOTED,   :D Winner.

Speaking from experience in trying this in the past with a creative writing contest, it doesn't always work as desired due to sheer number of submissions. The likelihood that a person will read all of the submissions is fairly low, and so it doesn't always result in balanced voting. That does give me ideas for other contests including player votes, though... things that ask entrants to create visual content, rather than written.

With this contest, we will be consulting military specialists and... well, I should have included this initially. Even if a story does not win one of the gold prizes, there's a chance it will be featured on The Chieftain's Hatch. I'll go ahead and add that to the news article.

Why not an contest of writing an Battle strategy or a First person view of WWII without any Historic back ground whatsoever
allowing it to be as Humorous or Serious as you want
Bad Ex: Right as The Troops headed out to take out the rest of Japan an Army of Frenchmen invaded and farted so bad we had to cancel the Operation and wait for another day allowing the japanese to escape to fight another day.
Funny or Serious
Bad or Good i think this would be a fun to do topic/contest!
Players vote on what they think is best too!

Edit: Devs would vote only since they will certainly read ALL the posts

This is a great idea and the things like this help people learn about History while having fun.  ie after watching some of the videos it seems that the Canadian Forces got the clean up duty while the other shined in Parades lol

Your absolutely right, had not considered, members actually reading all entries,...certainly like the visual contest idea...good going Dev's/Great Game!
A thought just passed before me, hopefully no too out-landish, what of a ["panel of player voters"] say 10, they would have to submit/respond to qualifications as per Dev's, maybe two reserve votes for non-responsive, or "if" non responsive a Dev vote in that place.("there could be a restriction of say tier 8 or above, at which it would ensure a [voter] that actually has earned his/her way to be qualified to vote")
I don't know just kicking it around.
I do know however the players would like to be more involved in the voting process, as per talk around WoT.
And I, and many others appreciate Dev's hard work in bringing forth the game itself and the opportunity at contest's.

The Good Point: Winner's are listed as per: "WoT Player's Vote".

Thanks for the reply and additional info!  Instead of having a player vote on creative writing contests, have a panel of judges  pick 4 writings of each type (comedy, first person, third person, summary, tactics, etc.).  Once those are chosen, have the players of WoT vote for the "Best in Genre" then "Overall Best"!  That way players don't have to read numerous writings, and the judges don't have to spend the trouble on voting for the best one.  Everyone has a hand in it then.   :)  Just my 2 cents.  :Smile_honoring:

And when it was time for the parades, we weren't even invited.

Awesome work on this contest!

Hi, I’m not quite sure how to submit my entry.
First, there is no indication how to do it in the contest description. And second, I found the forum thread explaining that all the entries of all contest were to be submitted directly in the contest thread. But if I read correctly, on September 22nd you received several submissions but there are none in this tread.
Could you help me plz? Did the rules change since the "Announcement: Contest Rules and Guidelines" post I found was written?

You can send in your submission by email to this address: events@worldoftanks.com :) Please add Scheldt Campaign in the subject line so I can easily find it.
All the info you need can be found here.
Please be sure to include your game name in the document so we can easily identify your paper!

We are closing the contest as of October 2nd, so the results won't be out till then. We don't want to start evaluating all the submissions till we have them all in, that way there are no biases towards who was able to submit it early or later.
After October 2nd, we will probably need a week or so to read all the entries! So far we have 23 entries.

Hello!

My article is sitting at 1,000 words right now, is it okay if my title and name push it over that limit?

Much obliged,

I call BS!!!

I won a contest two months ago and they still haven't given the promised reward.  If you win, good luck on getting your gold.

I don't participate in contests anymore.
