My only heavy line that I've worked religiously has been the American heavy line, and I'm currently at the M103 (tier IX). So, as I'm closing in on the tier X, I'd like some input from the community on possible next tech tree lines for heavy tanks to consider.

While I enjoyed the hull-down style of the US heavies, I'm open to more options to improve my playing style and learn new techniques. Over the holiday season I snagged a couple of the loot boxes and obtained the KV-220-2 and Churchill III, but I really haven't done much in the way of crew development with either (although the 220 is a funny tank to play at times). I guess I'm torn on whether to go Russian/Soviet heavies or maybe another line that I haven't really considered. I have played no German heavies, no Japanese, no Polish, no French, no Chinese, and no British tech tree heavies either. I'm open to suggestions and input.

And Go! Thanks! o7

277 or 5a.  277 is a easier grind imho.

277.  The super conquerer is awesome but the grind is really painful...

Go for the IS-3 at T8, and from there you can get the 277 and then the IS-7.

Oh, and don't bother buying the E5 when you unlock it, that tank has been power crept to death. I couldn't tell you the last time mine left the garage.

Russians. Not a bad tank in the line

You don't have a Maus, for shame.

I like the E100 line because there are plenty of tanks to force you to get good or give up.

Thanks y'all, I appreciate the feedback. I suppose it makes sense for me to delve into the Soviet tanks since I do have a couple crews and premiums to help a bit with the training. This will be my next focus after the light tank On Track ends June 2nd. Thanks! :B

Soviet tanks are always a good choice, I'd go for the 277 over the is-7 if clan wars are something you're interested in between those two tanks.  I haven't played it myself, but as others have said, the 5a would also be a good line to grab.

If you want another hull down tank to grab, the super conq would be a great line.  I've wanted to kill myself on the grind for it several times, but thats mostly because of how slow some of those tanks are.

If you don't care about getting a meta tier 10, I like the E100 line.  The end result isn't isn't one of the popular tanks, but I had a lot of fun in the tigers and E75.

Yeah, I picked up the KV-1 last night to start the IS line, and as I go, I'll do some more research as to which tanks on up the line I want to grind. I'm a frugal player on the whole, so I'm planning to not retrain my crew just yet until maybe tier VI/VII. I played two matches in the KV-1 last night for kicks and giggles, and I think it'll be fun to play that tank.

As far as the hull-down tanks go, I'll probably not do the Conqueror line yet and focus on Soviet heavies to give me new experiences with style of play and to enhance skills with more brawling tanks (and the tactics best suited for them). I'm going to be grinding this line full-bore after the American Light On-Track missions are over and will let y'all know how it goes. Thanks again for the advice!
