Howdy Tankers,

Just loaded into game and saw this:

I haven't heard anything about this.  Do any of you have good intel?

Hopefully an equipment sale.

Some info on the French Wolverine.  T5 prem with the 3-inch gun.   Note the timestamps.

Script files have been updated so let's take a look at the showcase of new HD vehicles, hidden in patch 1.4.1 ...

(Disappointingly, we don't have the T78 and TVP T 27 added... only the French M10 RBFM)...

During the "Challenge on Wheels" marathon comes intermediate patch 1.4.1 with small bug fixes on various maps, a new "Random Rewards" system, and Crew Skins....

Timestamps:

Quick Preview of T78 & TVP T 27 @ 0:30

M10 RBFM Wolverine @ 1:31

Crew Skins @ 8:26

Random Rewards @ 10:55

There was thread around with stats of new tanks from test server. I think this M10 is frenchie premmie, basically Wolverine with more DPM but you can confirm it with in-game compare tool on test server.

Marathong itself looks similar to horrible one for T-34 S.

The article is up on the EU website:

https://worldoftanks.eu/en/news/general-news/d-day-challenge/

The event runs until 7 June, so we will probably see the announcement some time around the 26th or so.

Oh my. B2 is listed as historical tank for this mission, time to dust it off.

Pretty nice buffs to the 3-inch tech tree version.

It's free too, but too lazy to screenshot the in game tool cause it'd be two split screenshots.  But here's wot.gg comparison, so the only thing really missing is camo values. This is with no crew skills or gear.

First is the French prem.  Second is the US (tech tree) version with the 3-inch gun.  Both with standard ammo (AP).  Note the pen and dpm differences (standard ammo on both), the Frenchie is better.  DPM is mainly from RoF, but there's the prem has slightly better alpha too.  Prem ammo differences are similar.  The dispersion is noticeably better too, but this thing has a worse engine and p/w and terrain values.  And it's got a worse radio. :P

Keep in mind these stats may or may not be changed from what's released.

Next is the US with the 105 (HE rounds) and last is it with the top 76mm (standard ammo).

Same armor and crew layout as the tech tree with C, G, D, R and L.

For those unfamiliar with wot.gg just click update tank near the top of the columns to change the layout.  Or base tank on the first tank, but there's no reason on this one as it's a premium.

https://tanks.gg/compare/m10-rbfm?t=wolverine_41311b%7Ewolverine_71311k%7Ewolverine

EDIT:  No morning coffee folks.  Had em flipped, fixed my post.:P

Also for the newer folks, ten MISSIONS are missions not games.

The reqs don't look bad so maybe have it done in a weekend unlike the cancerous EBR marathon that took far too much time to finish.

I think it might be one mission per day.

Some of the tanks aren't all THAT historical to D-Day (if the B1 and Pudel are included, why not the Easy 8?) but I'll take it :) Will probably drive the Firefly VC a lot.

EU article says you can catch up in later days.

Block Quote

You can join the D-Day Challenge anytime after the beginning of the event and even take on missions for the days you've missed.

Unlike in nasty T-34 S marathong.

Since I actually earned a T-34S (even though I never drive it), I'd have to say that the marathon couldn't be that horrible.  :amazed:

I wonder if it will be in the shop or discounted as you progress in missions?

Same thing I thought, at last WG proposes a reasonable event that doesn't require nolifing it hard.

Alpha is the same as in the top 75mm for the tech tree Wolverine, pen improves 2 mm.

They didn't have Culin hedgerow cutters on D-Day.  It was over a month later that the device was first built, and a lot of the steel for them came from the Normandy beach obstacles left by the Germans.

Don't get me wrong, I like the new style (assuming that's what this picture shows), it's just anachronistic to call it a D-Day style.  It would be more correct to call it an Operation Cobra style (by which point the Culin devices were widespread.)

But, but....I don't want to do another marathon-y thing**!

*Currently doing WoWs' Lazo cruiser mission-marathon-y thing after having done the WoT TS-5 marathon-y thing.

Actually this looks pretty cool, thanks for bringing it to our attention, Warchild.

Sure is getting difficult to find time for other games when Wargaming keeps coming up with this stuff. Guess Northgard will sit in my gaming queue even longer!  Yes, first world problem....
