The T-54 Mod 1 is a nice all around tank, plus it's Russian.
I picked up the T26E4 a couple of months ago because I needed something with armor for FL. While it is slow, it has nice potential and, with the addition of 105 octane gas, perks up nicely. It is nice to drive something that bounces a shell now and again. Good value.
The 44-100 might be the most popular FL tank. Much like the Mod 1 but plus agility and speed. People seem to like it, but expensive IMHO.

Between all of those, which one you have more fun and credits?
In game gold? T-54 Proto, Super P, or Lowe.
From the premium shop? The T-44-100. Both the T-54 Proto and Super P are usually allowed to be purchased with a discount coupon if you have one making them even cheaper.
The T-34-85M is a good money maker in tier 6 strongholds. If you have money to burn, the Strv is a good deal for $11.
fcm for money
pizza for fun
is6 for winrate farming
superp for wn8 farming
defender so you can go to tier 10 and get your face smashed in 2 shots )) aka what most noobs tell you is he best tank in the game lel

It's decent - not great. But the fact that you can rent it for Frontlines and use the gold towards it later on at an time, plus it goes on sale - it's a solid choice if you have some extra gold lying around from the holidays.

If you need to make credits, then Tier 8 is the way to go. Which tank you buy depends on your play style, which nation you have crews you want to train, which type of tank crew you are trying to train, and the stats of the tanks themselves. Since you have 6 more days and Wargaming often does special sales on weekends, I'd wait at least until Friday to see if they offer anything. (Also, I have noticed that they put out a 20% off coupon every week now, so even if yours expires you are likely to have it replaced in the future at a time when a more rare tank becomes available).
Watch some recent videos of each to get an idea of what they will be like, go to tanks.gg and look at each one's statistics and armor profiles, make an educated decision.
Also, do this month's Tankrewards.com missions for a free Tier 6 medium premium of your choice (if you do enough missions).
buying any prem tank in this game is not a good idea making wg wealthy while u get a pixel. why give them money, when they fix the bs in the game from prem rounds, arty, trash maps, and tanks that armor sucks from any gr tank, this game is so much a russain bias game, they made enough during the black market, and there prem tanks are over priced.

There need to be some players putting money in the game for the free-to-play crowd.
