OK, I'm at the point where I have enough xp/credits/gold to get a new tank with a 100% and equipment so it won't be totally "stock". Need some advice on which one of these three to get:

1) From my M8A1, I can get the T67

2) From my M2 Medium tank, I can get the M4 (bypassing the M3 Lee)

3) From my Pz III/IV I can get the VK 30.01 D

The M4 and T67 are Tier V, the VK Tier VI. Once I get one of these, I plan on staying at tiers IV-VI for a while, learning to play these classes. Any opinions or advice on these 3 tanks?

The T67 is an absolutely disgusting statpadding monster, but has a particularly high skill floor (especially for its tier) and so may not be that great for new players.

The M4 is your typical decent derp medium, nothing spectacular but not bad either.

The 30.01 D is pretty average but has something of a skill floor as well, being pretty much a worse Cromwell. Not the best for new players for the same reason why the Cromwell may not be the best for new players.

In my opinion, the M4 is the best choice, considering the tanks that come after each. Second choice would be the T67, simply because the entire Leo 1 line is about as new-player-unfriendly as it gets.

What death stryker said.  Succinct, accurate and to the point.

1...T-67 if you want to stat pad

2...Sherman, with the 105 and as long as you use only HE will be a decent money maker, also good for laughs.

But to be profitable you will need more than just rush ahead and get 1 hit.

3...VK30.01D is very often overlooked. It is a real beast.

One of the best DPMs, good gun handling, workable armor for a tier 6, awesome mobility.

HOWEVER I am not sure this could/would be a good tank for a new player, as I feel it does require some experience to make it work

Out of the 3, for a new player, the Sherman is the best imo.

Edit: ok, ninja'd a bit ...

I agree with Stryker. The VK30.01 is a fun tank (keeper for me) but, German tanks in general take more skill/finesse to play well. Not very new user friendly. Welcome to WoT, good luck, good hunting, have fun!:great:

Thanks all for the advice/suggestions. I went ahead and sank my resources in to the M4. Was able to upgrade almost all my modules to top of the line. Need to earn a few more shekels to get vents, rammer, etc. With the M4, Pz III/IV, Pz IIIJ and T34-85, should have a good learning curve on mediums. Now to try and get my win rate back up after the D-Day events :-)
