I would go with the Progetto.  I normally start Front lines with the Progetto, then switch to other tanks as needed.

The Scorp is a great tank, I think that the Progetto is more enjoyable to play though.

Are you playing mediums or TDs?

the progetto's paper stats convinced me to grind the mission for it was it last year?

after playing it, the solid traits it has (some say over powered) have made it a fun enough tank that I have not yet even bothered to start the italian tech tree line, instead just working the crew in it for doubles, and occasionally front line use.  I did burn a lot of free xp to acquire the panterra, and have it sitting in the garage, but haven't retrained the crew for it.

my only time playing the skorpionG has been on sheriff/deputy accounts.  it's an astonishingly mobile TD, with a hard hitting gun, but the camo on it is horrifyingly similar to how bad the Grille's is, and there's lots of HE flying around still...  I've never really felt my garage lacked by not having one, and since wargaming hasn't made it available in the tech tree for gold, or available to earn, I haven't bothered to acquire it.

How is the pantera compared to the progetto?

The two tier 8 Italians are very similar. I prefer the Pantera slightly over the Progetto. Both are solid.

haven't played it.  not even on deputy account.  I was just taking advantage of the sale this past weekend, and picked it up, the T30, the Conway, the EBR 105 and the SConq.

feel broke now, down to 65m credits...

The Progetto is a much better tank. The Pantera has a bit better armor but the gun stats on the Progetto are far superior.

I was pretty glad to be rid of it once I unlocked the Standard B,which is a great tank, one that I kept even after unlocking the 65 Progetto.

Pantera is similar to the Progetto, but the Progetto is better in every way that matters.

If you like fast medium tanks with autoloaders get a Progetto.

If you like to sit in a bush with a camo net and binoculars, get a Skorpion.

They are both fantastic tanks.

Progetto.  No contest.

Not saying the Skorp is bad, though.  It's good, but the Progetto is simply better.  Progetto allows you to be consistently aggressive and take the initiative.  Skorp is more of a "LOL!  Gotcha!" type of ambusher.  It can peekaboom if needed, but versatility is much less than the Progetto.

Both tanks are excellent and make a lot of credits. The fun part depends on your playstyle... The Skorpion G is my most played tank and i love it but sometimes it lacks the flexibility a medium can offer.

If you have the $$$$$$$$'s, get both, you wont regret it.

If you are choosing one over the other, go with your preferred play style.

The previous posters covered all reasons for either vehicle, with one exception:
One really cool thing about the Skorp is the sound of the gun when you fire it. A very satisfying and big “Boom!” that fills the headphones. You hear the first boom and then usually hear another boom when you pop that red target.

I have all three and have had decent games in each, but better games are more frequent in the two premiums. The Panterra is nice, and it is available through the tech tree, but it still isn’t a Progetto.

You could buy the Skorp and grind to the Panterra. That gives you kind of 1.5 out of the 2 tanks you’re asking about.

But if possible, go with Hota’s suggestion. You’d be going 2 for 2 in tanks that provide completely different play experiences, both of which are fun.

I have both. In FL, I play the Progetto MUCH more. It is much easier to play because it allows you to get out of bad situations much easier. In addition, popping up to do 700+ damage and then disappearing is quite a handy ability to have. The Progetto is also my #1 when I go FL.

The Skorpian is more situation specific for me (obviously not for those that are actually good at it...). It can be great but is not suited for all circumstances as well as the Progetto.

I didn't realize it, but the Progetto's shells cost 430 credits a piece and do on average 240 points of damage (according to tanks.gg).  That means 1.79 credits/point of damage.

The Skorpion, on the other hand, has shells that cost 1,070 each and do an average of 490 points of damage.  That's 2.18 credits/point of damage, about 18% more than the Progetto.  However, I think credits are shared between the spotter and the shooter, like EXP, which would likely eat into the Skorpion's profits, making that an effective 4.37 credits/point of damage, which is almost 2.5 times more than the Progetto in this case.

Considering the Progetto will be more in your enemy's face without a spotter assisting, I think the Progetto would be more profitable as a premium tank than the Skorpion.  If the Skorpion can spot its own targets, though, the Skorpion would be more profitable.

Pantera and Prog are Similar....      Pantera has Armor the Prog doesn't, Prog has the Interclip Reload Pantera doesn't....      Pantera is Quicker to get going....

I have every Tank in the Italian Line still in my Garage, most still have Crews....    The Tiers 5 and 6 are the ones that disappointed me the Most, the Tier 2 Medium I only sold because it's Tier 2, but I do have the Tier 2 Light....

Of the 2 in Question, Skorp is a Hammer and less Versatile than the Prog....        It has a Kick in the Teeth Factor the Prog doesn't have, but the Prog is more likely to get you Unstuck from a Bad Situation, especially if Fully Loaded....

I have both and the spagetto is very fun in frontlines where your ap pens nearly everything you face but I think the skorp is more fun in pubs. Both are very useful in both modes.

scorp gets more money cause "you dont have to fire as much gold" but progretto deems more fun

it really depends onyour play style. but....

i have seen the SKorpion G on sale for several times now. This is the first time the Progetto is on sale since the last event. I am sure WG will put it on sale again in the future. For the time being, Progetto is hard to come by. So if you like playing MT, then you will not be disappointed with the Proggetto.

Penterra 44 plays very similar to the proggetto but have a little more armor, but trades it for speed, and long inter clip reload .5 sec longer vs the proggetto. it is a very capable tank as well.

all T8, T9, and T10 Italian MTs are great. Proggeto 65 is sooooo sweet.

I agree with what the others have said. The Proggeto is the most versatile of the two.  I really enjoy it. In Front Line I usually use the Proggeto for the begining stages, then the Scorpion when defending the final objectives..

I Like the Penterra. Over all it's a pretty good tank and as pretty decent turret, but you can't count on it. It's a decent tank, but a little on the sluggish side.

Obviously the Proggeto makes the most sense if you want to go up the Italian line.
