I dont think the concept of a tank having a built in consumable is a bad idea. I do think having a new mechanic like that locked behind a grind that, realisitically not many people are going to complete, is a bad idea. I also dont have a problem with things in general being locked behind grinds (I still dont have the Excalibur and it took me two years to get the Obj. 260).

 

Leaving aside the fact that I dont think CW reward tanks should exist in the first place (I think they should be available in other ways for other players, and I say this as a person with two of them and who will be going for a 3rd next month) your comparison to CW rewards is a terrible one for a few reasons:

 

1. Even in the old days of month long campaigns, the time investment (both in terms of event duration and time invested per day) was much lower than the current FL grind (which is anywhere from 8 weeks to 10 weeks, of 7-8 hours a day).

 

and

 

2. Regardless of how badly theyre balanced the CW rewards are just normal tanks. They dont have special mechanics.

 

The AE Phase 1 would be like WG, instead of implementing a Wheeled Vehicle line, or instead of implementing the Swedish tank destroyers, taking one of them and making them a reward tank. Its not an ok thing to do. The AE Phase 1 should be made available in the bond shop alongside its availability in episode 8 of Frontlines simply because it has a unique mechanic that no other tank in the game will have and thats not ok.

We have some new values for both vehicles after their first week of testing.

The updated values are as follows:

 

Kampfpanzer 50 t
Gun dispersion during hull movement and during hull traverse from 0.14 to 0.16
Dispersion during turret rotation from 0.1 to 0.12
Reload time from 8.7 to 9.5

 

AE Phase I
Aiming time from 2.7 to 2.5
Gun dispersion during hull movement and during hull traverse from 0.16 to 0.14

Reload time from 12.5 to 11

I question the reload nerf on the Kampfpanzer given that it only deals 320 alpha per shot... that seems a bit heavy handed especailly for a tank armed with a 105mm gun dealing such little alpha compared to anything else at its tier.

I have that tank in Blitz. Some Japanese guy designed it.  It's actually really good.

Tier 9 doesn't have ranked battles. Doesn't get decals. Clan wars.   It's sort of a strange place.

 

I was wondering the same thing.  What is up with the Tier IX rewards?  Cannot use them in anything competitive or fun, just pub matches and maybe a tournament.  Strange place for rewards.
