So for July 19 - August somethingth we have this reward described:

Choose a nation and compete to earn a special style!

Reward-filled missions dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the first moon landing: Select team U.S.A. or U.S.S.R. and then hit the battlefield — the winning side gets a special style!

Really?  I remember watching the moon landing, and it wasn't in 1959, it was 1969.  If I subtract 2019 - 1969, I only get 50, not 60.

Hm.

It's well known in the eastern block that Russian propaganda said that cosmonauts landed on the moon in 1959.;)

That's how history was taught behind the iron curtain, in Soviet Russia.  They faked the moon landing too, and it happened in 1959.

I am in awe of your ability to determine it's a typo, rather than ignorance, despite the lack of any additional evidence or information!

They were spaced from Kraken when they did the calculations.

Spoiler

Nothing new for WG.

There have been typos and poorly worded announcements since I started.

This typo is a simple mistake, at could easily be overlooked. Quite mild of a mistake for WG.

The Russians landed in 1959 and just didn't tell anyone, silly.

I would like to point out they have it correctly in the July Preview as 50 year: https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/announcements/july-2019-sneak-preview/

The evidence is that the number 5 is located adjacent to number 6. Literally every human being makes mistakes.

Well, they "landed" in 1959

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luna_2

Kinda a big deal at the time given it was the first time any man made object had made contact with another astronomical body.

Maybe that's why there's a "team selection!"

I remain in awe of what's offered as "evidence" rather than "supposition" or "guesswork."  Clearly the definition of "evidence" has been downgraded since I last heard it.  :amazed:
