If I'm thinking to use a premium vehicle as a trainer for other crews, and the crew has no other skills (e.g. no 0-skill BIA) besides 100% in the vehicle, is there any reason to keep them?

Not really, it costs just as much to transfer crew as it does to train new ones if you are going right to 100%.

If you have other crew that fit in to get trained then no real need except that they are 100%. If you retrain them for another tank using credits they'll be at 90% as opposed to recruiting a new crew for credits to 75%. If you aren't going to retrain them then you can dump them or leave them in the barracks just in case.

.

This: the transfer for credits is actually a benefit.  I use it for low to mid tier tanks I'm grinding (and I don't care about my stats, so there's no reason to spend the gold).  OTOH - with a high tier tank, the pain of an untrained crew is noticeable.

100% crew only benefits a new player who wants to buy his way to upper tiers thus making worse game play and further showing wargamings disregard for quality of battles and bent towards money only as the only motivating factor.

Ah!  Hadn't thought of the 75/90 bit.  I thought I might be missing something - thanks!

If you train them to 65% on the first skill w/o picking a skill, you can transfer them out for silver and the game will pull the XP off that first skill and apply it towards their major qualification. This means that you can silver transfer them and end up with a 100% crew.

Or just throw a 2M credit crew book at them and then transfer out for credits.

I concur, if you can spend 2 mill credits to buy a book do so before you transfer them out, they will end up with 1 full skill at 100 and the second one at something like 50%. Then you transfer them to the new tank using credits and they will be at 90% which is perfectly fine imo. You can even put them back in the premium and play a few games to get them back to 100% before ever playing the new tank they were trained for.
