Really just asking for purchase advice. I played the 4202 a while back through a rental and LOVED the tank but decided not to buy it because I knew the 5/1 was better, got a rental for it recently and am now in love again. BUT, the 4202 just go buffed, a significant more amount of mobility.

It seems to go with the 4202 you sacrifice 120dpm, hull armor (and a chunk of turret armor), some gun handling, and 10 view range. But, you gain a significant boost in mobility. Do you guys think the extra mobility justifies going with the 4202 instead of the 5/1?

I have both and like both for different reasons, but overall the 5/1 is better in the current game. It's newer.

Yeah this is what I was thinking. Wish some tuning would be done so the two are unique rather than one being outright better than another :/

I have both also, the 5/1 I have on my second account. The 5/1 is definitely better but I like them both.

I have both and find the 5/1 to be a bit better. They both have the uses, strengths, and weaknesses, but the 5/1 just feels better to drive.

4202 is weak. Even with buffs it is just colecting dust in my garage.

This isn't a contest.  The Cent is flat out better.

More DPM, better dispersion, better armor.  Mobility isn't as good, but the other three things vastly outweigh whatever lost mobility there is.

EDIT: Except Frontlines.  Better mobility makes the FV4202 a more viable option if you're able to use this extra mobility

Like Both and again for Different Reasons....

My 5/1 has Frontal Armor the 4202 doesn't, but it's Flatter than the 4202 so it's Thick and still Prone to Pen's....     4202 while Thinner is Sloped Better due to it's Lower Profile Overall, this also gives it a Better Camo Rating....       Both have good Turrets, 5/1 has a Mantlet the 4202 doesn't where the 4202 depends more on it Angles and Sloping.....

5/1 can be Played as a Heavy if need be on Occasion, but I tend to Brawl Hard in Both Tanks....     5/1 is shear Mass in a Face to Face Brawl, the 4202 can get Under the Nose of another Tank and I HAVE Flipped Tanks Over with it - Panther II and T28 Proto most Notably....

I'd say if you like Both, Get Both...   With the 5/1 being under the Twitch Discount right now I'd start there....     But the 4202 would be a Nice Addition as well.....

The boost in mobility isn't that great compared to the 5/1 and it certainly doesn't make up for the loss of all those other things.  And the angling of your turret front in the 4202 doesn't matter, it will get penned by any Tier 8+ most of the time and some Tier 6/7 tanks with premium ammo most of the time while the 5/1 can still bounce shots.  Wait for a sale on the 5/1.
