I'm surprised anyone does any damage in heavy tanks most have the gun handling of a drunk man firing a Roman candle.

ha ha, true. :teethhappy:

but you're also firing from five meters away...

There's no excuse to do 0 damage. If a bottom tier heavy can do it a top tier sure as [edited] can too. The replay below should be taken as to demonstrate how a bottom tier heavy is perfectly capable of doing damage and blocking some shots, ergo, a top tier should be able to do it much better.

This replay is not calling anyone out, no top tier heavies did 0 damage and blocked no damage. I am just speaking in general about top tier heavies putting up bupkis and how someone who isn't even that good with heavies can make it work as bottom tier.

Not everyone can afford to press 2, especially if you sold the previous tank and barely had enough credits to arm the new stock vehicle and in higher tiers, AP is damn near useless.

They also happen when one gets TKed within the first 30 seconds of the game for no reason at all.

Happens to me... I learned to quit playing arty after the first dozen times.

Here’s the meta I see during the summer holidays. Loads of high alpha TDs and heavies driven by dyed in the wool baddies. For June, through to August this game should be renamed, “World of Farming: Tomatoboogaloo Edition”.

We all have those games where we just shake our heads after getting nuked for a bad decision we make. During the other 9 months you usually don’t see too many high tier heavy zero damage games, but right now it’s every game.

I have seen the same thing.  A T57, top tier heavy with a WN8 of 48, and a wr of 41% last night.  made me want to weep.

That doesn't apply to t8 because...how does a caer AX manages to do damage to a Maus, Type 5, e100? or how does this survive shots from those tanks when it does t have the gun penetration nor the armor to compete against them?

You might want to read the title of the thread.

If you are stuck in a situation like that, 3 button can be your friend. No, you won't destroy a super-heavy tank with HE, but you WILL do module damage or track them and maybe someone else who CAN damage or destroy them can get a shot in. Also don't try being a "hero" by going up against a tank that you can't pen. Nothing wrong with hitting the S button and backing the heck out and letting someone else go at him.

Plus you can sometimes get little bits of damage which honks 'em off to no end...

I struggle with my U.S. T29 heavy. At T VII it's my highest tier and my play style is better suited to TD's and Meds then heavies.

Still, I've learned how to use it better and I'm living longer and doing more damage as bottom tier and doing much better as top tier.

I had a string of bottom and mid tier games with it yesterday where I did OK and when I got to a top tier match with only three heavies per side I thought I'd have my moment to shine.

Nope. Got spotted by a hidden TD moving up, got hit twice losing most of my HP, and then got hit by arty and a heavy's shot and killed. I fired two shots, one which missed and one which bounced, for a ZERO point game.

Funny thing, last time on that map in that tank I'd had 3k dam for High Caliber and the win. Next time on that map in that tank as TT I got the big Goose Egg.

HA! Very true! I recently had that happen when I was bottom tier with my Mauerbrecher. I was spamming HE on an IS-7. He refused to budge at first, but after constantly doing damage, I must have knocked out enough modules that he got peed off and backed away. :D

In this new form of WOT with wheelies racing out to spot, three arties immediately focusing on you, TD's with amazing alpha blasting away at you its a wonder a heavy of any sort can contribute at all.   Not to mention mediums with over powered guns firing gold.  Of course, I suck at this game, so what do I know?
