People who buy things aren't a problem. The people who rage in chat are the ones that worry me. Not the sarscasm or a little gripes, the guys that are unhinged over losing in a video game. You know ?

The ones who rage over a loss are more understandable to me than the ones who rage about the rest of the team refusing to follow their orders.

They remind me of this guy

Spending money on something you "enjoy" is not a waste of money as long as you feel you are getting value out of it, whether that be recreational value, relaxation, etc. I have spent a bunch of money here over the years, but when broken down over time, it's actually a very modest investment for something that I (usually) like doing. It's cheap entertainment. E.G. premium account time is only about $.33/day. What else can you do for entertainment all day, every day for only $10/month? Even Netflix costs more than that.

I spend more in one session at the rifle range than I spend all year in WOT. And I go to the range a lot.

I did save a ton of money by switching to GEICO!

Stop missing so much!   :hiding:

Actually, that's one of those look-in-the-mirror cash-flow moments for me...  :amazed:

Dinner and movie with wife. $100.00, and neither of us drink. 3 hours entertainment.

Take kids (3) and wife to Canada's Wonderland (like a US Six Flags park). $600.00. 6 hours entertainment.

WOT is cheap by comparison.

The finacial cost a WoT "whale" habit is much less than that of a pot-head, smoking doobies.  Better for one's mental health too.

One tier 8 premium tank costs about $40-$50 less than a brand new AAA game, and I'll probably play the tier 8 premium more than the brand new game. This is pretty much the only game I play, after all.

I spent more on booze when I drank than I do on this game and I was a pretty moderate drinker.

Where did YOU do combat sport? Cannabis is the BEST medicine for combat related PTSD, not that silly fol;ks like you bother with such things as facts.

My rule of thumb is that if some jackas loudmouth did NOT put his knees to the breeze and jump into combat from 25,000 feet with me and my team, I don't really care what their useless gutless rear end says about what legal plants I use to fight down the urge to choke the very life out of the American freedom hating gutless traitor harassing me, (that I shed my blood and risked my life for.)

Bet you get ALL your science from the College fail outs at FOX Hannity and Limbaugh.

To be fair buddy, unless you fought in WW2, you weren't fighting for the average American citizen. You were fighting for your government.

No, "whales" is the industry term.

I don't know HOW you spend $40/month but that's up to you I guess. :)  Then again I'm probably only playing 30-40 hours/month so you are playing more!

I spend 15 25 on premium/gold and usually buy 2 or 3 premium tanks and 150 dollars at Christmas. It adds up fast.

So it was a video that was attempting to teach how to make money [publishing] free-to-play games, but it stated--in a public video--that whales are idiots?
Full stop. They are clearly astoundingly idiotic, or just trolling.

To specifically consider whales to be "basement dwellers" or any other derogatory term is so absurdly off-base not to mention counter-productive.
In my experience whales are well-paid individuals who are neither interested nor forced to do the huge daily grind most of us consider "fun" or at least a pathway to fun. Either through well-paid work, a monthly check, or family support, their disposable income is nothing to be mocked; especially if one hopes to earn away some of it.

The wealth disparity among those with internet access is vast. One person's rent check, is another's spare change. Can you really consider someone a fool simply because they have money to burn and are doing so?

Glad you got that habit under control. Hope some day you can accept your past without shame.

I just watched a video of a seminar on how to make money on free to play games. One of their main points was to get players so invested in the game that they feel that they have to keep investing or they are wasting their money. IE  Buying premiums that are way better than last premiums so that you stay relevant in a game that you have a lot of money and time invested in. They referred to whales as the target demographic. Whales are people who spend more than a thousand dollars on a game. At first I thought this was stupid because who would spend that on a game? Then I thought about it and realized I am that guy. The video I watched then made fun of idiots who spend this much on one video game.

My thoughts are this. I average 60 hours a month on WOT and my average spending has been probably 40 dollars a month. The way I see it is I get 1 hour of enjoyment/rage per 66 cents. To me that is a value.

Why am I making this post? I guess to try and make myself not feel like the idiot they said I was for spending the money I have spent.

Simple solution: Don't take what other's think of you or your actions to heart.

So much for the claim that pot is the drug of love and peace.

Which habit?  I count many bad habits in my inventory.
