As long as is doesn't taste like fish Im game. I plan to provide Home Owner Association security for beta hipsters neighborhoods in return for food, wine, women, and cigars.

I am doing well thanks for asking.

Sweet! If any of those hipsters get out of hand, just send to 'em to my Soylent Green factory.......

But do you grow crops now?? Because this is one of the things that I always laugh at when I watch the prepper shows. They've all got this big bag of seeds and plans to grow their own food but they don't have any actual experience doing it. Anyone can grow a small garden when it doesn't really matter if something goes wrong. Growing enough food to completely support several people and livestock is a whole other matter. And yes you're going to need to, at least in part, support your livestock as well. You're not going to want them too far from home base and grazing any sizable number of livestock requires fresh pastures pretty much continuously.

I grew up on a working farm with only electricity as the modern convenience so I'm well conditioned to living a simple agrarian life. I sit on about 25 acres of rolling pasture for the most part except for the gully up the hill I stuck the house and have a garage/barn lower down on the flat land which I lease out to my neighbor to graze on. Some of my neighbors raise milking cows and others are corn and bean growers and near everyone has gardens and chickens and goats etc. There are thousands of acres of forested military preserve on the other side of the hill from my property with tons of deer and other critters for trapping and shooting. I'm good if society collapses as long as the human zombies lurching out of the city and suburbs don't make it to us and given there are three towns between it and us I figure their own sheriffs and good ole boys will have thinned them out by then.

So again the best way to ensure survival in a collapse situation is to gtfo of the city and find a nice small farming town with minimal suburbs and get to know the people you live around. Of course you have to weigh the odds of something awful happening over the convenience of living in a city area but for me it was easy because I never really left the country and only worked in the city for a couple of decades in my younger years. Those who were born and bred in an urban or suburban environment would never be able to adapt in time as there isn't any experience left in those demographics with dealing with any real hardships. And no binge watching game of thrones and the walking dead don't qualify. :P

u dont seem very prepared at all.....

a pick up truck that'll be worthless on vehicle choked roads....

no fuel stock.... no food stock... no water stock.... no battery stock... no shelter....

just some guns with no place to go and no practical way to get there.... even if you figure out where you need to be...

the first survivor / marauder with a high powered rifle and a scope will have what little stuff u have and youll never even know it....

maybe you should have bought a house or some land instead?

A 4X4 does not need roads.

I'm too old to bug out. I'll just sit and wait for the marauding hoards to come to me.

big trucks aren't going to be worth jack.... and a v8 sucking gas like its going out of style....

best choice ever!!!

Plus maybe Arf is going to be the marauder. "Needs work" is his code for turning into a lawless savage and taking what he needs from the scattered human settlements.

Only if you live in an area that has sidewalks. Not everyone lives in cities.

If I needed to bug out I have 25 gallons of gas stored I can take with me but the 110 gallons of water I have stored will have to stay behind.

You don't necessarily need gasoline to run a truck or car.

It does not get that cold on the U.S. west coast at this time but in another 10 to 20 years when the grand solar minimum fully kicks in that might not be the case.

Training from the real-life Rambo could come in handy.

and if he lives in alaska?

or the northern east coast? or the northern midwest?

the simple fact of the matter is that a big truck would be the worst choice......

and to make it even worse.... he has no place to go.... no way to get there... and no cache.....

sure he can sit in his home on an ammo crate.... until he runs out of food water... and take pot shots at anyone that gets too close..... but u gotta sleep sometime...

Are you suggesting that he adds several cases of Jolt Cola to his inventory?
