i have many crew that do need some retraining, but i want to do the gold-version. these guys have too much exp to lose any thru credit retraining. and im really cheap....squeezing any nickel until jefferson hollers! and i have lots of lootbox gold. sure i could do full price gold retraining, but im trying to STRETCH my gold hoard until xmas.just wishing...i do have plenty of crews/tanks that i can play without any retraining.any reasonable chance of upcoming specials? i havent seen any real clues yet.

just a random pondering...

Agreed, we could use a discount on crew-retraining for gold.  Please WG?

I gave up on the crew training sale thing.  I have plenty of money to spend on this game, and never hesitated to use gold to retrain my crews to new tanks.  Now, WGNA is just acting like a bunch of cheap asses.  I ended up with over 50 crew needing to be re-trained to new tanks.  After much ado mentioning it on the forums (for months) and up-voting everyone else's countless posts on the matter, I said "screw it" and re-trained every one of those crew members using silver.  Crews can get their base skill back up to 100% quick enough, and silver is easy to obtain.

WGNA knows there hasn't been a crew training/skill reset sale in ages.  And, they know people have been asking for one.  However, the stubbornness of them to throw down a sale cost them (and saved me) over 5000 gold.  I win, WG.

For skill resets, use gold.  For re-training to a new tank, just use silver.  I highly recommend others do this and save some money.

May as well make it a double special - discounted crew training AND discounted free xp conversion. All we need to do is come up with a catchy pitch for WG - something like "Back To School Brush-Up" or for Omi - "Cats In The Bag" or maybe "All Your Crew Are Belong To You". (Please note that my day job is not as a slogan writer).

Same thing happened last year.  The first crew re-training for gold discount the NA server saw in 2018 wasn't until September or more likely October as my memory serves.  We haven't had one yet in 2019, yet there have been 2 or 3 on the EU server so far.

It's been quite a few months now, and like the rest of you I have a bunch of crews to move around.

I post about a Crew Training discount every week.  Wargaming NA has the ability to throw up a discount every now and then.  I don't know why they do it the fewest out of ALL of the other servers.  It's the only thing that makes me angry as I've been waiting months for a discount.

This is really all my fault. I know that as soon as I spend full price on crew re-training for my 19 tank crews that require it, there will be a sale the next day. I've been holding off spending gold for re-training at full price but perhaps I should just give in, for the greater good. :amazed:

Seriously, though, I think nasfan has the right approach. Perhaps I should just say screw-it, tough it out and go the silver route. That will save a lot of gold, sale or no sale.

Seems like the most stringent special they run, they do it once maybe twice a year it seems anymore, they used to at least get it in quarterly.

I've cut back on gold retraining using books.  As long as the crew isn't high already where it will take many books to push them up where they have an undesignated skill.  For any line I am grinding I leave the last skill unset until I finish.  In most cases the 4th skill is sort of fluff and you've hit the high spots with the first three.  Maybe for scouts you can gold retrain the commander and float the rest along with the last skill unset.
