Be nice if we could sell them for 1/2 the gold they were worth. :honoring:

Heck, I'd even settle for credits.

Speaking of gold:

First trip out - it's not too bad.  Not sure that it'll make me sell the Tier IX version any time soon, but I'm not regretting the price of a couple pizzas or a night at the pub.

But if I had a gold for every gold round that got spammed INTO the thing.*

*and pretty much everything else I was driving this morning.

I am really suspicious when they drop it to the shop before the Community Contributors can release reviews.

Garage slots used to be harder to get, but now they sprinkle them everywhere. Same with 100% crews.

It's pretty slow moving and although the armor seems adequate at first glance, my guess is Gold spam will cut you to pieces. 50 KPH and paper armor is generally a better set up than 30KPH and thick armor because of that.

I'll watch some CCs before making a buy.

You think it's not worth it, right.

As for it having thick armor,  did you notice the sides and rear won't stop spit, plus it's not only terminally slow, but takes a day to turn around.

It's enemies won't need Gold.   They won't need to make much effort to flank either.    Getting a side shot will be dead easy if the lump ever gets to where the battle is going on.

According to Edvin and Zwhatsh, the gun works sometimes, and either you do massive damage, or you don't. Armor works sometimes as well....however, given that it's a slow tank, Edvin said that out of the 1 1/2 hours they played, he felt that he didn't make a lot of impact. Sidescraping also did not go very well, as the cupola betrayed it a lot, and people will just auto-load gold and nail you straight through the turret.

However, Edvin did say that thanks to the Czech Holidays event, people were playing like absolute idiots.

Zwhatsh finished off with saying that he wouldn't label it as 'bad', but it's nothing special either.

As for my impressions, it seems that the VK 75.01 K is just a Mauerbrecher with a rear-turret placement and bigger gun...and a somewhat less conspicuous cupola, and a machine gun port that ISN'T a weakspot. While it is far easier to sidescrape and do more damage...that's about it. So, in the end, it's better than the Mauer, but not by much.

My (worthless, but offered nonetheless) two cents exactly.  Not a killer deal, not a waste of money at the price for the base model.  Plus coupon.

I agree. If you just get the base pack, you're not over or under-paying.

The best part is QB showing video footage from Games Con, where the tank was in a slightly better form.

Personally, I LOVED the VK 45.02 B.  It was such a comfortable tank.  It only was limited in weird terrain elevation situations.  But, even then, I just played it like a TD.  This is going to be, dare I say, a terrain "thinking man's Heavy".  Would say that, in my estimation, it is Defender-ish.

The only thing that really bothers me, about the tank, has nothing to do with the tank.  It comes down to the uber weak description:

Block Quote

 VK 75.01 K

A concept of the development of heavy tanks with rear turret placement.  No prototypes were built, never saw mass-production.

Wow!  That is some serious educational verbiage there.  Who designed it?  Who built the turret?  So, it wasn't in mass-production?  Odd!  I didn't get that from the "No prototypes were built" comment.  Feels like a 100% Serb moon-base tank design.

Bought it, this morning, at like 6-something am.  Am about to get into it but I enjoyed it on test.  To me, and this is just me, it is a Heavy/TD hybrid.  I played it like a Jadgtiger with a turret and bad gun stats.  Bully when you can and never ever go alone or in weak numbers.  EDIT:  This, like all German tanks, isn't going to be something that you face-roll into victory and uber stats.  Have to be careful on your side scraping angles and, if you're facing multiples, it makes side scraping even worse, due to the slow reload (hence the "don't go alone/in small numbers" ).

I'd like to see them add the option for extra Barrack slots to the Tank Rewards. That way if you have plenty of unused garage slots then have extra room for whatever extra crew you come across.

It's worth it to me I guess. Will be buying it soon with a 20% discount. Going to actually have a premium German Heavy... Might actually make me grind the German Maus line after all... Just gotta get around to it after the IS-7 line...

It strikes me as odd that they chose to not have a 2nd loader as Kraut heavies / super heavies seem to generally require.  Other than that, it seems like a VK at tier 8 instead of 9.

The Pz VII line only has one loader and it's pretty much a tier 8 version of the 45.02 B. The VK168 is the trainer for the Maus line(and E100)

Yah, that was my First Thought when i saw it in the Garage...     Looked like the WT E100 Minus the Umbrella Turret Shield and the Autoloader....         Just a tough Call since I could use the Gold, Tiger II needs a New Crew, and I have 201 Days remaining....

Both Top Bundles are Worth the Price with the 20% Discount...

I hate Decisions some days....       lol

OK, Sprung for the Gold since I needed it anyway....     First Game a Loss, Team Camped and waited until the End to decide to Move and by then it was too Late....        I leaned on Red a Bit and took a couple Pot Shots but ended up No2 in Damage and XP so I'm Good with that.....

http://wotreplays.eu...olfe-vk_75_01_k

Now I need to get the Tiger II out and get the Crew Locked into it....    Haven't played it in a Long While, Time to see how the Games Changes have Treated it....      But I'm liking the VK so Far, works very Similar to my 705 except that it can't just Hang Out and Take the Beatings....
