I have around 250 battles in heavies and 37 total in tier 7/8. I have a ton of gold from last 2 years Xmas boxes. Today’s festival tank is the Lowe. Everything I read says credit printer, but for a relative heavy/ higher tier noob, is it a good tank for me to learn tier 8 and be somewhat of a help? Last real threads I could find were from 2018. Thanks in advance. Disclaimer, I haven’t played much in last few years, so am learning the changes to maps and not doing so well, so maybe I should not be trying this.

It's a nice solid tank, IMHO.  Nice credit earner.  Very cumbersome.

Thank you. It being slower may help keep me from getting to my deathzone so fast.

The Lowe is a very good Tank, Great Turret, Great Gun, Good gun depression, and it trains 5 crew members, Did I mention that it prints credits, It's standard round has 234 mm of pem, Apcr has 290, Yo do not need to fire Apcr very much, Since its's accuracy is also very good, But if you do have to fire apcr with 290 mm of pen you have a very good chance to pen what you are aiming at. Get the Tanks it is well worth it.And the 400 meters of view range means with a decent crew and Rammer, Vstab and optice and you will be at least at 460 meters of view range, 445 is max anything over 445 helps with defeating camo, you can spot them closer then you would normally be able to. esp. if you have a lot of gold left from Loot boxes

When top tier you can brawl with it, You can Side scrape with it, Bottom Tier second line support and it snipes real well, Very Good Hull Down -10 degrees of gun depression, and it can also be an anti aircraft gun in a pinch, it has +38 degrees of Gun elevation.

I'm looking at this as well although I have no business being in T8 yet.

I have the mutant in the reserve list but from what I've read the Lowe would be the more sensible choice plus if you buy it with gold it's like 4k or so less than if you get it off the tech tree.

So far I have the Mutant and the STRV-S1 on my reserve list.

I really like mine.

It prints credits and it has a reliable gun. Also recently they gave it a speed buff which was noticeable for me.

If you like to play heavies and want something that is pretty consistent with it's ability get the Lowe.

Yes this is also True, the Lowe comes with a slot and 15 x5's, after the first win each day, you can use the 5x exp, 15 times, and it is only 8750 Gold, Tech tree it's 12,500 gold, I have been buying all the Premium tanks I already own for 300 gold " you get the Full gold refund as soon as you buy the tank, except for 300 for the Slot and 15 x5's", Just for the 15 x5's

The Strv- is a great TD, It does take getting use to the Siege mode, Once you do the Camo is amazing, and the base pen is 288, Premium ammo is 330, It also Goes 45 km backwards. It does 55 forwards, Shell velocity is also very good, Apcr is the standard round. When you look at the Stats on the gun they look bad, They show 2.94 aim time 0.39 acc. But this is not in siege mode. Sieg mod the acc. is .29 and aim time is 1.34. That is before any crew skills or equipment.

Lowe is reliable, solid gun and a hull down beast. If you are looking for a premium heavy it makes my top three list (IS-3A & Defender).

Thanks very much for your replies James.

WOWOWOWO!  45 in reverse for the STRV now THAT changes some things.  Clearly not an instant bail out mode in siege status but while I'm still learning this awesome game, that reverse speed might help me ease into some T8 games, but I do intend to spend 90% of my first 5k games in T5 and 6.

What would you recommend the more forgiving tank out of the Mutant and Lowe?  The Mutant reads like it could be more forgiving for me as it's more of a front on tank and I'm so useless aat side scraping I dont even bother yet.

Now the Lowe might be better for many reasons more but bear in mind I'm trying to learn but I also like to spend money on pixels to support the game in the meantime so a more forgiving tank.  PLUS...I like the Alien movies ;)

It would be good if they were selling more T6''s but who know's what underneath those sheets in the upcoming days ;)

Lowe, But the Mutant is a "rare" tank only been sold twice since the game came out, It was a beta package Tank, back in 2011 and WG promised they would never sell it , but after 7 plus years I guess they figured enough time had past. They buffed the Mutant 6  and sold it almost two years ago, man the S storm was quite large, It's a decent Tank .The mutant does have preferable match making, It never will see a tier 10 unless you platoon with someone who is not in a pref. Tier 8. Playing it solo or in a pref toon and you will see Tier 6 to tier 9, If I had to pick only one, I would Pick  the Lowe,

You may want to save a slot for a toolbox.
