Howdy Tankers,

 

My opinion about artillery and those who play SPGs for the majority of their games in WoT is not shared by many and I understand that.  Regardless of what you believe about arty, I ask you to put yourself in the shoes of the Captured King Tiger crew here and let me know how you'd feel:

I don't like to complain about things that have no hope of being changed/corrected.  I would like to say though that I do not like having 3 artillery in a game and would certainly prefer a reduction down to 1 per side.

 

Just my thoughts.

FYI - If you don't want to watch the replay, I'll save you the drama and just tell you that I was shelled to death in the first 2-3 minutes of a game on Westfield.  However, their arty focus on me allowed the rest of my team to dominate the other flank and win the game.  So there's that...

I would definitely vouch for a 1-2 arty per side limit. 1 to 2 is the magic number, 3 is excessive. Either you go untouched by SPGs, or you get focused to death in 3 arty games

Taking one [or several, if the metaphor is not accurate enough for you] for the team is not awesome, but the win is the best revenge.

I am fine with the dynamics of 0 to 3 arty per game, and enjoy arty as a player, and as a hunter.....

 

So, no complaints here.

They can rework arty until they are blue in the face.  As long as there is three per match, the problem will never be solved.  One to two is ample. Think new players trying to learn the game want to be hammered by it?

It's part of the game, I knew that going in and don't have a problem with it. Sometimes it's sucks, most of the time it's not really that much of an issue. TBH, it's the least of my worries when playing.

Clearly, you did not hide behind all the artillery safe cover in an open map. Learn 2 move, scrub.

There's nothing more fun than playing a heavy on provkharoka with three arty.

I dunno...  I'd rather have  2- or 3-arty battles AND battles with no arty instead than having at least 1 arty in every battle (or having a 5+ minute wait in queue when trying to accomplish arty missions...).  Just my 2 cents.

1 arty per side just exchanges one set of problems for another. This happens so rarely now that arty can't platoon that I don't think this problem outweighs the problems that would result from the change.

Nobody's getting "hammered" by low tier arty. And if they're still a "new player" when they get to the higher tiers I can't make myself feel sorry for whatever happens to them...

I agree with I_QQ_4_U, It's part of the game and I've never really questioned it.  Sometimes I like it when we have Good Arty players on OUR side. It's awesome when I'm pinned down and ask for support and our ARTY takes 'em out!!  What happened to OP _WARCHILD_ has happened to me quite a few times.  Sometimes it's inexplicable WHY they target the tank I'm in.  Sometimes it seems as though its because I was the first ENEMY spotted, so all three rain down on me cause they were ALL ready to fire.  I get that.  Don't like it, but it happens.  That's why I always cringe when I'm the first tank spotted!!  When I get rained on like that, I'm out of the game fast and clicking on a new tank for my next battle. I try not to take it personal - even though it feels that it is - lol.  For the record, I'm NOT an ARTY player.  Played one game I think.  I AM gonna go up the USA ARTY line though so I can finally advance in the First Season Personal Missions.

I do not mind 3 arty in high tiers but in lower tiers the Lead blower and M-44 are problems. Mainly the M-44 as there are at least one on both teams every game. Circon did a video on them one time and showed that tier for tier the tier 5 and 6 arties are far more powerful than the tier 9 or 10s. Of course I am not good enough to get focused on so XVM focus is not a thing I have encountered. I watch Skill4LTU on twitch and the arty focus on him in some games is insane. I also have to say I do not play heavies anymore so that may also effect my thoughts on high tier arties.

I'm the definition of a scumbag arty player...  It's the class of vehicle I enjoy.  MY reasons, MY game - and I play within the rules... That said, I'd prefer to see 2 per side MAX.  Even if that means I have to wait a little longer to queue; I get it.

 

My suggestion for arty:    2 max per side - BUT let us platoon together!!! Give a little more alpha, a little longer reload to compensate for it and then take away that stupid stun.

Actually it seems to me that there ought to be a way for WG to limit the number of artillery per match and still have artillery-free matches.

 

e.g. "when forming a team, flip a coin. If it's heads, add up to two artillery to it. If it's tails, do not add any artillery."


The result is probably a mix of 2-artillery and 0-artillery battles and much longer queue times, but, what the hey.

 

(I do play some artillery but I support the complaints and support a limit of 2/battle.)

Granted that I don't play too many HTs but they are a priority target for pretty much any class. Good HP for TD farming. Easy spotting for LTs. MTs can get some good flanking shots (when possible). And a big slow high HP target for SPGs.
