Hey,

Just looking for some info.

Did something change with the AX, I never used to get set on fire, but now it is every game for some reason. Didn't change play style, just started getting set on fire in every single game

Got just one word for you... auto fire extinguisher.  OK, 3 words.

Don't forget, you can also use a free crew directive for fire.  If you earned some.

Both of these responses address being set on fire. rather than the OP's question about a possible change that makes the Caern AX more susceptible to being set on fire.

I've been playing the Caern AX lately and don't see any increases or unreasonable occurences of being set on fire with respect to other tanks, OP.  It might just be a streak of unfortunate circumstances.

As an aside, I am having a tough time being relevant with this tank as it seems to be very easily penned by everything on the battlefield.  I've yet to figure out staying alive with it long enough to actually do some damage.

Bad luck is my guess, same as the bad luck I had the other day where I got hit once and exploded from ammo rack in the first two minutes of a battle.

I'd say look at the type of round that hit you when you got set on fire.

If it's HE, well...that's the go-to for players trying to complete those type of missions.

But, I've noticed that a majority of the time, when I get set on fire, ammo-racked, or other internal module damage (not tracks), the player that shot me was firing Premium ammo. I'm not saying that's it's all-inclusive or that WG has upped the internal damage chances JUST because a player fires Premium. I'm just saying that when those modules get damaged, I've usually just been shot by either Premium rounds or HE.

I had a string of that with the Progetto 46 recently.  Turret kept getting damaged repetitively in pubs.  Which for me, rarely happens.

I also had something similar recently: was ammo racked in two out of the three first games played in the Black Prince.  The Safe Stowage skill was applied to the appropriate crew member and that seemed to work as was not ammo racked in any of the following games.  Mind you, per the link below I also found out that hits to the left front side of the hull behind the leading track sprocket could result in an ammo rack and in hindsight this is where I was hit.

Maybe find out areas on the tank where fuel and the engine are vulnerable to damage, and play accordingly.  GL

FYI - from wotinspector.com, it looks like hits to the rear of the hull just behind the turret on both sides could potentially flame the tank.

Thanks for the help ya'll it does appear just a string of bad luck. However, I have noticed getting penned more with this tank. I think they have lowered the RNG pen for this tank
