To all fellow players out there, I am looking for input on if it's worth trying to start and coordinate a WGNA players union to try to show Wargamming that we can only stand codes for events for so long.  The goal would simply be to get enough of the player base mobilized to show that enough players as a whole are unhappy with the codes for all events.

The goal would be to get enough players to stay away and not play on one day so Wargamming has a visible metric of just how many players are willing to take action.  This would hopefully make them take notice and stop with the code nonsense.

I know the chances of Wargamming giving a crap about it are slim.  But at this point what other option do we as players have to try to get the company to respect the player base?

Didn't the codes start because players were complaining of too many missions to keep track of?

WG is a corporation. Unions and corporations are enemies.

That's what WG said, but I have to believe the number of players complaining was pretty small.  They just need to make the code backwards so that those players that don't want the missions need to enter the code to turn them off.

and the complaints about missions tracking started after they jacked up the stupid UI to make it look like an iPad app that you had to scroll through with your feet.

just like the depot, with all those stupid giant icons...

their ux designer obviously came from the iStore, and their map designer came from Dota (or they are ripping both off)

well if it was a UI problem...why dont EU and RU have the stupid codes? dont they have the same UI?  its something else...and its only here. no announcement as to why only here.

and that UI makeover a few yearsd back...that absolutely sucks. no need WHATEVER to change it. my guess was that someones nephew had just gotten a degree in cellphone UI/tablet app design.

Yes and ironically our kindly code benefactor was one of the individuals who took credit for their inception.

And ditto to CandadianPuppy and then add on top of that most oldschool Soviet's view on such things.  And Austin's apparent disdain for their own (i.e. codes, the consistent failures with same, lack of sales, so on and so forth) it seems a fruitless endeavor.

A few tunes seem to be in order.

Sadly most unions have become a twisted caricature of themselves and why they were created.

Spoiler

Of all the things I would want WG to change the code system is pretty low on the list.

degree? no.  probably downloaded gamemaker 2.0 and called themselves a developer...

From a business standpoint, being forced to use codes means you need to log onto their site, creating more traffic, so you keep updated on news, and their site will be higher in Google, so more advertising

You expect players to form a union ? They can't even form a team of 15. Good luck with that.
