RASHA tonk: 150 km/h but it has some drawback, maybe gun depression, I dunno

German tonk: 50 but something makes it good, I guess

American tonk: 25 but better acceleration and the besterest boost, to 30!

Cautiously optimistic on this. The original worked fine with everyone issued the same vehicle. Not sure why they decided to add multiple vehicle types. The pessimist in me is concerned that by trying to improve this mode they've somehow made it worse. Also concerned that there will be some sort of ridiculously grindy aspect to level up as an "improvement" over the original basically play for fun version.

What's the deal with having to choose a team?

I find it annoying that the rewards are based off something that is mostly out of our control. Basically the team with the most players has the best chance to win by far, while the team with the fewest likely won't have a chance to win.

If you're going to split the community like that might as well just assign teams randomly so that they end up mostly even in numbers.

I can't even see what difference there is between teams.  Is there something we should know?  -- Lots of unanswered questions all over the Gen.Discussion page.

How does one register for a team?  Did I miss a link in the description page?  There referral link connects to the referral page for bringing new players to wot.  I looked under tournaments today 19/09/19 and there was nothing listed.  From the news page registration should be open by now and it closes in 4 days on the 23rd.

@Private2AT - I couldn't figure it out, either..   till a friend told me. In your garage, top/center, is there a 'checkered flag' thing hanging down? Next to the missions and stuff.  that's where.

It looks like you don't have to register for a team, but it's really not clear. The page says, "There will be several types of progression during the event, depending on whether or not you joined a team." 

The 'depending on whether or not you joined a team' makes me wonder if you can still play without it.

OK, on reading more, I found this:   "To take part in the tournament, join one of the three teams "
So,yeah, it looks like Tank Race is a game mode, and there's a tournament you can join.
I'm going to join a team more as a 'just in case' than anything. :-)
