Just got it, 3 battles - so far, it's a get killed fast tank. I quickly met a same tier comet, thought 'well my 8 shot autoloader will take care of him', I got 3 shots off, I think he got 2 and my tank was gone, he was at 61%.

It'll get better as my crew gets camo skill, but redshire, just seen and shot from everywhere, while of course the low damage gun could do little to anything.

This is gonna take some getting used to. Situations where I can ambush, without getting shot, look pretty rare, leaving scouting and well that's about it?

We'll see if I can find a role for it.

There is actually no way for a Comet to kill you in two shots.  Its alpha is only 140.  So you must have been hit hard by something you didn't notice - somehow.  Make sure to look at the log on the left side to see what hit you.

And your shot alpha is 90.  90x8=720.  You cannot kill a full health Comet with that.

In my experience of being KILLED by them, if you're going to try to delete someone, pick an already damaged tank.

Not sure what log you're referring to, it does show what shot me? But the log does show I actually got 5 shots on him - it had felt like 3. Surprisingly I guess all penned, for 458 damage. But he was still 61%.

I find a Review/Guide from Taugrim to be helpful when learning a new tank.

He has a YouTube video - AMX 13 57 Review?Guide, Maximizing Your Autoloader Efficiency - that you might find insightful/helpful ...

The 13-57 is the most OP light tank in the game. The playstyle is to find an isolated tank on the minimap, circle-strafe it to death, leave to reload, and repeat until the entire enemy team is dead. It has good view range, camo, and a decent gun.

Like all auto-loaders, you are strongest in the mid and end game, when flanks open up and the reds are wounded.  Early game, play more passively, use your excellent view range and camo, and take shots of opportunity when they arise.  Do not over extend and always have your escape route planned.

You don't want to be seen early on.  Do some passive scouting, and sniping from behind a bush (15m+), don't waste too much amo as you will need it later.

Once game develops, look for isolated\distracted tanks.  Your clip is worth about 720 damage in 7s, then just 15s reload... on par with 268 V2

Great post. I find I get most of my damage in the 13-57 in the later part of the game in almost every good game. Spot early. Assassinate late. And this tank really, really rewards map awareness.

Thanks for the posts. The pen doesn't seem to be high... range makes it worse?

The pen is low-ish, but in the same range as a number of other tier VII lights, including the DA, the LTG and the 13 75, and more than adequate for sides, rears and soft targets, even at range.  The shell velocity is pretty good too, It can definitely camo snipe.

Pen doesn't need to be High, but the Turret Rotation is a Bit Slow for the Damage Output, balancing you know....      I almost took out an E75 in mine by Out Maneuvering him, shooting Sides and Rear.....      If I recall, someone else got the Kill because I was in Reload, so you have that to look forward to as well....

And I stand Corrected, it's been so long since I watched it, it turns out it's an E50....      So not quite as Impressive, but still a Good Tier 9....      The other one is just me Fartin'about in a Platoon helping someone Grind their Tanks.....

13/57 is a Fun Assassin Tank, you're either getting at Lower Tiers or other Lights and Clipping them Back to the Garage....     Or, getting after those already Occupied or Damaged and Sneaking in a Clip on a Drive By....     And Late in the Game, this thing is just a Little Monster....     I haven't had mine out in Forever now, my 13/75 tends to get out more which is really not Right, I need to Fix that....     lol

You can also side hug Type 4 and 5.  Another trick is to drive under Japanese HT, and clip it's belly, though ELC Even 90 is better at this....

ELC Even90 can almost literally sit in the Middle of the Red Team without being Seen....       lol

I parked mine in the Middle of Murovanka and sat Unspotted with a HWK12 less than 50m from me.....       Wasn't until he Bolted and I thought I'd Light that I fired at him and was Spotted.....     13/57 isn't as good at this, but it is Good for End Runs and Killing the Unsuspecting.....

They always seem to Underestimate the Gun, it's Reload, and the Potential it has overall.....

While I still don't know what left log you mean, I watched the replay and got shot by two other tanks also, you're right.

Hint: Don't ram big tanks as a small tank.

1357 is awesome in the right battles. I use mine for more passive scouting to start. Then go active about halfway through battle. The burst of DPM is insane for a little light tank. I call it the crazed wood pecker.

Except for the part that Proxy spotting happens at 50m or less automatically - no exceptions...
