Too bad that veterans of other nations are not recognized.

ID Me requires a Social Security #; I should feel comfortable giving WG my SSN.  Sorry the service taught me to be more protective of my SSN then to give to the russians.  Oh well.

ID.me does not give your SSN to anyone. They only use it to verify (in this case) your military service.
They will give WG nothing. It's just like them saying, "hey this guy's a friend of ours", and WG trusting them and giving us stuff.

I think you should give them your SSN ...... I'm sure there is no issue LOL.  You take that chance I won't not worth the loss for this reason.

Check out ID.me on Wikipedia and other sources.  It looks like it might be legit, but I'm gonna wait a bit before trying it.  I already have the tank, but am I reading correctly that you can earn gold each day via a mission if you connect ID.me to your WoT account?  Surely I there is an unstated limit to how many times you can earn that, right?

If it was not recognized by the VA, then I would never have created a login.

Even then, I am hesitant about giving out my ssn to anyone. Still not sure if it was worth a pixel tank.

All I had to give was last four of ssn. I would not give full ssn, if you're in the VA system name branch and last four all you need.

It's the last 4, not the whole thing and nearly everyone has that by now.  I did it through USAA and it wasn't a big deal.  WG doesn't get any info except the list it shows you that includes things they already have and the addition of service branch.  I do understand the skepticism, but it's really not a big deal.

This is how it works.  The ID service keeps the fakers out.

They may be in the future. Read domosapiens post about this in the official news post about this where he says they are already thinking of expanding this system to other veterans of other nations.

Ironically, the VA uses ID.me to verify service. Go to va.gov, click on “sign in”, you’ll see the ID.me sign in link. It’s a legit service, it’s saved me thousands of dollars.

I was skeptical as well, they're accredited by the VA.

it's the full SSN for 3 of the 4 sign in options, and it's worth pointing out that they are accredited by the VA so at least as safe as the VA to use :coin:

Given that this is a partnership with ID.me, which deals with US organizations, I'm not sure your criticism is focused very well.

I've been a member of IDme for a couple years. Long before WOTs got involved. WG is just one of many who use it to verify service

ID.me is legit.

Get the tank, don't get it...get the camo, don't get it... but for anyone to use ID.me as the reason not to is silly.
