I am very uncomfortable submitting anything with my SSN nor will I be willing to hand over my USAA number as I have tens of thousands in stocks and investments thru them to a Belaussian company operating out of Cyprus.

So.....Thanks, but no thanks.

That's not how IDme works lol, been using it for years. They never asked for my DD214 or social when I registered, your service dates, DOB, and city you enlisted from and branch of service are all you needed. It's a VA partner site so it's legit.

well lets put it this way. There are many companies that now verify your veteran status for other companies. The reason that this has become a business service now is because it is now against the law to falsely claim military service. So there is a legal need now to properly verify military service. Wargaming is simply using one of these third party verification services to verify your veteran status. Your employer probably does this as well. I even had to do this to get my lowes 10% discount card also. Remember, your military status is public record, which is how people can verify it and now that there is a law requiring it, well, it's going to be a thing going forward. Sorry, way of the world now.

No, each of the four options from wot requires a SSN

Wrong. Were you an army grunt or marine? Cause it's pretty obvious you can't read anything on the ID.me website.

Which Troop ID verification option should I select?

-USAA Membership (no social needed)

-Active Duty Service Date  (no social needed)

-.mil Email (um yea, still no social needed)

Only option asking for a potential SSN is the Upload Military Documentation option.

https://help.id.me/h...ould-I-select-#

So you're wrong, not surprisingly, about ALL FOUR options needing an SSN.

If you are willing to hand over everything for a 10% discount that's you.  Do expect everyone else to do and try to justify it as "just cause".

No need to start going after me personally because I'm asking that they try an easier way to give vets a discount that doesn't involve us providing info for ID theft.

I was able to quickly and pretty easily confirm my service with Id.me for my US army service time. Much appreciated to you Domo and the other NA forum reps, along with WG.

I'm not military, but I would be a little wary about linking my service to a company run in a foreign country.

I already had the Thunderbolt So I got a special style and a coupon. Thank you. But I am not seeing any missions. Do I need to buy one of the packages in the store to get the missions that are listed?

You don't need to buy anything for the missions to show up. They are in the "Other Missions" Tab

Go Through ID.me and check. The limits are "Did you serve Past 1985." It never hurts to try. If you already have  a USAA account then it's even easier.

I appreciate and applaud the intent, maybe use a method that doesn't require my SSN?  You're basically offering a discount for veterans, if showing my ID works at restaurants and stores, how about here too?

People can fake ID's. The VA ID card isn't that hard to duplicate.

Wargaming receives no information from ID.me other than. "yes they served, or NOPPPPEEEEEEE!"

Other Veteran's and myself have completed this. We wouldn't send you out to find 50 feet of Flight line, or a compass drain kit to get the bubble out of compass, or make you take an Exhaust sample.

If you don't wanna do it I understand, but I can assure you that your personal data is not being shared to WG from ID.me

Things like that are important to point out... it may have been brought up at a WG staff meeting, but it's not been made clear to your customers... and I am a Disabled Veteran who regularly accesses the VA site through the other log-in options.

What about veterans from other countries? You know there is something called NATO.

And us ANZAC's. We were there in all the good ones. WW I, WW II, Korea, Vietnam, and all the Middle East and Afghanistan.

C'mon man... I've shared the link to the site you sent us to, I've already double-checked it and triple checked it... maybe my PC needs some spray squelch, or maybe I have a soft spot in my armor I need you to go put an X on with the chalk... but the link WG sent asks for SSN... https://verify.id.me/en/9c01595a342f47328ef51a730beee5f0/military

Okay, you guys are all right with putting your SSN out there, good on ya.  I'm not, and I'm not being derogatory toward anyone that is (unlike the responses I've been getting here), I'm just asking for an option as a Vet who enjoys playing the game who doesn't want to have to give out his SSN or info for my USAA account to get some cool pixels for my screen.

I don't have a VA card, I have a military ID card... and I don't think they're easy to duplicate (edited).

I still have my Expired military ID card as well.

The USAA option only asks for your last 4 instead of the whole thing.

Please also know that WG doesn't have any Control over this verification process. ID.me is using the SSN not WG.

This is just partnership where we link veteran's to the site, they verify, and only tell us Yes or No this player has served.

Also yes, you are more than welcome to not submit your information to ID.me, but you really should since they offer many discounts on a bunch of things that you may be interested in. :)
