MM fixed?

MM is not worth the toilet paper it was scribbled on with that pink crayon. The promises to, and have fixed it are also just as worthless. Before anyone mentions "random" I do not see how 75% of battles are 3-15 loses or worse, so blow that nonsense elsewhere. It is just so frustrating to loose time and time again with such one sided results. Cannot beat a team and MM too.

MM Still stinks. Get 38% and 40% and guess what? get smacked! so I keep checking in and get whacked so i check out for another 3 weeks or so. No change, no fun, why play this?

so you want an MM that will artificially keep games closer?  its a single death game, blowouts happen in them

Snowball effect, one tank goes down or failing to destroy that a tank that can't take another hit (to catch up) results in a higher probability of losing another tank.. and another.. etc.

And achieving a winrate of 25% with a reasonable sample size is pretty much improbable unless you're actively trying to hurt your team, or that's the conclusion for many threads over the years that have discussed "players" with very low winrates anyway.

Three minute blowouts only keep the game churning. Frankly, and this is pure supposition as well, I doubt wot has any intention of changing it as long as the player numbers stay fairly static. Their motivation is purely money as is any business and as long as folks are going to be impressed with missions for silly useless emblems there is no reason to treat their customers any differently.

so short matches make them money how?  i can think of only one game really where people spend to stay frustrated and that is golf

Words just simply cannot express how much I f-ing love this MM. It's so f-ing fantastic to play 16 games and get 4 wins with teams just evaporating in blowout after blowout.

I've never had an issue with MM.  With some of my team mates?  Maybe a little from time to time.  It's the environment in which we play and from the get-go, for me, all I can say is -- it's never the same battle twice so far.

 

 

You can also blame THAT on MM and so I would like to express my thanks for the wacky, crazy, capricious MM for making it interesting always.

The crap just continues. Given how badly the weekend battles went I had an idea for an experiment. As we say in the service, for feces and giggles, I decided I would track how today's play went. It was so freaking bad I got intrigued to see just how screwed up MM is. The tally today before I got so damn disgusted and left for the day. 7 wins with ONLY 21 losses, mostly blowouts.

Artificially? By not matching players as it does equipment. Sounds like artificially shortening games. I never said all games should come down to the last 2 players, but when games constantly, prolly 75% of the time, end 3-15 or 15-3 the game is unfair to both seasoned players and noobies alike.

a fair beginning though does not equate to closer games.  sbmm or skill balancing mm will not overcome the snowball effect

 

but my question now is if you want teams matched by skill then what do you do with platoons where say a player like me platoons with players better than him?  does the good player get dragged down into the bad players skill tier or the bad player get dragged up?  either way you create a new kind of failtoon

RE toons, in my limited experience the toon got dragged down to the side with the least experienced players and we were bottom tier. Every. single. time. Granted neither of us was anything close to a unicom but every. time??

I completely agree that one sided battles are frustrating. Even i am going through that. I would say its mostly to do with the kind of players we have on our server. These blowout battles are a sign that worst and bad players outnumber the avg and good players. Also the population is dwindling and there is no hope of this getting fixed. 

This game is almost 9 years old now and its high time WOT categorizes their player base and give chance to compete rather than making them feel frustrated. 

Often times i feel that its too much of a work to even win a battle. I request all players to check your Hall of fame record. It gives a good understanding of how well you fare compared to other players in the last 30 days. 

When ever i check my Hall of fame record, it states i am doing more damage than 96% of the players and on almost all of the stats i stay above 92% of the players, but still my winrate does not go above 40 or 45% on any given day. 

 

For the past two days i did not play WOT and started playing the other tank game (W** Th*****r). I am not coming back anytime soon.
