Hello All,

First time posting here.  Ive been reading a lot of post about the many many ( issues ) with this game for a while now.

After much thought about it I wonder if this would solve a lot of the issues in the game.

 

1. Remove all auto aim for all vehicles.... All shots would be manual.

That totally makes sense, because real tank commanders never had gunners to offload the work of aiming and shooting for them...

And let's turn off that mini-map too, it's totally not historic and most players never even look at it anyway :-P

And if you're tracked you should be out for the battle. Pretty sure no one in a real tank got out under fire to fix a track.

radio operators should not be able to report everything happening on the map at once

Yes I understand that there are many non realistic additions to this game... Most of the tanks fighting would not be seeing each other on the battlefield.  But aside from that,  I've read many people having issue with the wheeled vehicles etc etc.. I just think that in this one item ( removing auto aim ) would greatly benefit the game play and could totally disarm the anger being felt by a lot in the game towards the wheeled vehicles..

Problem that the OP is addressing is the fact that wheelies have a version of aim assist that was deemed an illegal mod for all other tanks.

It could be interesting to have a mode with players filling each role, but for now there are some concessions in realism to reduce the fog of war considerably to make things fit into 5 to 15 minute matches along with having one person do 5 things at once.  Auto-aim allows some offloading while you are in a high workload situation driving, repairing, switching ammo, keeping track of a lot going on at once.  The best players manual aim while doing all that anyhow because center of mass is often a bad place to shoot and will have a bloom increasing turret rotation if tanks are in motion.

 

I do think the game might be better with less information - not knowing enemy team composition until spotted, a rougher indication of damage, more generalized hit indicators limited to front, back, left or right instead of a vector in HUD, vision based on what you see through your own gun scope (I.e. Longer view range if you are aiming at something) and a more general spotting similar to the arty target indicator for something spotted by someone else that you haven't seen yourself.  This might be a mess to unwind in the present game but there are so many game mechanic that we just accept that it's sort of built in now.

Great post op. Totally agree on having no auto aim, but how about just making being tracked last longer not insta repaired.

No PvP game should have an auto aim.

 

It serves a purpose for accessibility though, so that trumps I’d say but only just.

Last night I played EBR 105, got hit by the Death Star AP round... it damaged one of my wheels... that needs some though and improvement.

 

The main reason wheeled vehicles are OP, is their gun stabilization is so good, they V-Stab doesn't help much.  You can go 95 kmph, zig-zag hold down fire button and still hit most of your shots.

Thank goodness that we have magic reviving med kits and tanks with Hit Points.

sims aren't very fun.  tanks run out of ammo, break down, get IED'ed, struck from air, sabotaged, etc., etc.

 

I don't know anyone that really wants to play a tank sim.

Why not give everyone the more advanced auto-aim?  It seems like a general improvement that would be of benefit to all tank classes.  Nothing worse than trying to right click on some [edited]when you're lagging a bit and they're moving fast laterally.

 

I was a little surprised they gave this one sub-class an advantage that is basically an illegal mod for every other class.

Tanks should still be able to fight without turrets.

Because this advanced auto - aim only works with turreted vehicles... Turret-less armor would not gain the benefit....  I still think if auto aim was removed completely then the shooting and hitting would be all in the hands of the player and RNG....

Haha!  case in point.  I just don't get that.  

yeah the accuracy whil emoving is insane
