I bought this tank a while ago, couldn't get it to work decently sold it and just yesterday got it back and even with the new MM it is still a hopelessly under-gunned tank. The 2pdr. main gun while using APCR shells doesn't hold its ground in a TierV match. Here are some ideas to fix this rather broken tank as it is in its current iteration.

As always, if you have displeasing comments just keep it for yourself because I am not interested in this kind of caustic discussion and will not reply to them. If you have something productive to add to the discussion you are more than welcome to share it here for the benefit of the whole community.

I'm not sure whether you feel the Tank Museum chat has ideas but trying to be productive:

The Sentinel's gun in some ways sits between the Valentine and Matilda 2-pounders.  But when you compare the three, there are some obvious things that could be done to improve the Sentinel's gun.

Aim time: 2.7s vs 1.7s (Valentine) and 1.9s (Matilda)

Alpha: 45 vs 50 (Valentine) vs 55 (Matilda)

ROF: 26.1 vs 28.8 (both Valentine and Matilda)

So I would say: drop the aim time to 2.2 or 2.3 seconds, increase alpha to 50, and increase ROF to 28.8.  That would certainly be worth a try.

Been running mine a bit recently grinding a new crew for a Sherman III that wasn't crewed gathering dust.  It's DPM and alpha is pretty bad and what little is does have is hampered by the aimtime as it loads faster than it aims.

FrozenKemp's on the right track I think.

This is British and it's got treads, so...

Spoiler

My post was eaten by the website, go try to figure what appened I am truely cluess.  Since I can get rid of it lets post the Cheiftain available material.  On the two part series on the Sentinel we see that the rear of the ingame iteration is wrong.

That is interesting for sure.  Still I would defenetly use the QQF. 6pdr. as shown here in the following picture.  The QQF. 6prd. is already fitted in the Canadian Ram II and it's rather cramped turret.  After that just use the stats of the RAM II and I think this would be more than acceptable.

The aim time and the anemic alpha both hurt the tank. The AC4 Experimental is much better.

I didn't like the Sentinel when I first got it.  I came back to it and can now get it to work.  You can't play it like most mediums.  With a 1.9s reload, play it like an autoloader with an endless magazine.  Get close, auto-aim, and hold down the fire button while attempting to circle.

The AC-4?  Only a few games in it but I love the gun on it.  Slow, so play it more like a TD.
