Speak freely.

Don't Tread On Me.

Speaking freely isn't the same as being jerk or an idiot.

If someone is too much of a coward to just speak frankly and call someone "stupid" then they should at least have the good grace not stoop to using other words that don't mean what they want to say but are too weak to say honestly. If you think someone is being stupid, then be honest when you "speak freely" and call them stupid. But don't be a coward and hide behind other words.

A pro tip for you OP: No one on the internet cares about your feelings, or you loved ones. So no one on the internet will cease using a word just because it offends you.

Pro tip for you: You're an idiot.

After further reflection, you guys are right.  It is not my place to teach manners or common sense.  That was your parents job.  My bad.

AHAA !!  I thanked my parents in my reply (#10) for teaching me and being great examples for me !

Unfortunately, not everyone is/was as lucky as I.

I taught my children well, also... they are both kind and considerate, big hearted individuals.

There are all types of people in the world some care some don't, that includes the care of their children, some teach other throw a phone at them and let them go.

"Stupid is as stupid does". I agree with  _WarChild_ , but  I do not expect anyone to change as a result of his or my statements. An open forum like the internet is not easily changed and people will continue to do and think as they were taught as children and young adults. This is my opinion and I have no malice toward anyone who is butt hurt by these comments.

Respectfully

Don't bother looking up my stats because I am "modestly" bad on a good day!

I have several friends with children that fall somewhere on the spectrum and I do not envy the tremendous effort that is required to provide for their loved ones.

With such a high concentration of autism in your area you might want to have your water & soil tested for heavy metals, pesticides or other contaminants.

You clearly don't know what the ___ you're talking about.  Sad really.

Along with your disproportional occurrence of autism in your geographical area you also seem to be lacking a sense of humor.

Having a sense of humor doesn't make a really bad "joke" any better.

This is any parent's first mistake...this is YOUR role as a parent to teach; schools educate our children, they don't raise them. Maybe if people would stop having 5 kids as a way to live off the system they'd put down their x-boxes and phones and start raising their children....no, there's a better chance that we all have a Chieftain being given to us.

The word that I avoid using is "cancer". As toxic as certain game mechanics can be, I think the reality of cancer is far worse.

None of the "cancer" "autistic" "retarded" etc. words should be in one's go-to vocabulary but I only see it being a problem from youth and their ignorance of the issues. Anyone advocating for the use of those words is not someone worth my personal time.  However, I forgive youth because it's not their fault that they're stupid that way.  It really is their parent's responsibility and maybe their school's.  Proper wisdom should come with age and experience, but nothing beats a proper education.

FYI - for some of those who responded above, here's a little more education: https://www.webmd.com/add-adhd/childhood-adhd/news/20190926/more-us-kids-being-diagnosed-with-autism-adhd#1
